Last month, we shared a video showcasing Counter-Strike’s iconic map, Dust2, in Unreal Engine 5. And today, we are happy to share a new video from this map, packing over six minutes of in-engine footage from it.
Created by YouTube’s ‘Nic’, this map goes for a more realistic look to that iconic CS map. It also features a bodycam viewpoint similar to the one used in Unrecord. Keep also in mind that this map was created by a single person. Thus, for a one-man project, it looks really cool.
From what we know, Nic does not plan to release this project to the public. So no, unfortunately, you won’t be able to play this fan recreation of Dust2 in Unreal Engine 5. Basically, like most other UE5 fan remakes/remasters, it was created for portfolio purposes.
However, Nic claims that he’s currently working on a game that will be based on what he has learned so far from this project. That’s a bold move. To be honest, though, it would make more sense for Nic to keep remaking/remastering other games in UE5. This could have potentially landed him a job with a triple-A studio.
Anyway, speaking of Unreal Engine 5, I also suggest taking a look at these other fan remakes. For instance, we have these faithful remasters of Dark Souls and Dark Souls 3. Then we have this amazing fan remake of STALKER. Let’s also not forget this Grand Theft Auto 6 fan concept in UE5. Last week, we also shared a fan remaster of World of Warcraft in UE5. And lastly, you can find fan remakes of Death Stranding, Final Fantasy 9, Fallout 4, ARK: Survival Ascended, Fallout 4, Resident Evil’s Spencer Mansion and Skyrim’s Whiterun. All of them are cool, so make sure to watch them.

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Vignette so bad it’s like looking through a toilet seat.
That camera shake is vom-inducing.
You should cover the new mod from Pascal Gilcher
Tomorrow…
What is it?
This looks like one of those realistic environment scans, but it’s hard to tell with the annoying fisheye camera effect.
John’s future article sample:
today, YouTube’s ‘Nic’, the moron behind bullshit ue5 projects claimed to be working on a plan which let’s him go toilet only one time every 24 hours. he said he believes by dedicating less time to toilets, he can sh*t more in videogame world, the same as john, the master of useless crappy articles”.
The maps train and nuke would be really good with this look
Body cam is the worst gaming trend for 2023.
One biggest flaw developers don’t get its not a bout realism (if anything I don’t want that sh*t) I want a good game and a fun experience
Shut up Fernando.
Piss off Fernando
Better than never
John, I think you can ban that “StopActingBlack” troll, he’s crossed the line too many times. Just look at his past comments.
I’m all for trolling and shitposting when it’s funny, but this guy is just calling everybody a pedo, wishing some of them dead, etc.
This is a part of voting for Choice #1 (No Censorship).
The drawback to no censorship is that not everyone can handle Freedom of Speech responsibly without abusing the hell out of it.
Put him on your ignore list and boom, problem solved.
stupid b*tch. you support war crimes but this is crossing the line? hope your brother gets drafted and dies.
WTF is this S#!T?!! Looks like absolute trash!
