Flight Simulator 2020 feature 3

Microsoft Flight Simulator Update 10 released, adds DLSS support, improves DX12, full patch notes

Microsoft and Asobo have released the tenth major update for Microsoft Flight Simulator. According to the release notes, this new update adds support for NVIDIA’s DLSS tech. Moreover, it brings a number of DX12 improvements.

As Asobo noted, DirectX 12 support is currently in development and can show performance and GPU memory utilization regressions compared to DirectX 11. Due to higher GPU memory consumption, the simulator may be oversubscribing memory, which negatively impacts performance.

It’s also worth noting that this patch adds support for DLSS 2 and not for the newly announced DLSS 3. Asobo will add support for DLSS 3 in a future patch.

Update 10 also features numerous stability fixes and improvements. Furthermore, it comes with improvements, tweaks and changes to the weather, UI, Devmode, SDK, and more.

As always, Steam and Microsoft Store will download this update the next time you launch their clients. Below you can also find its complete changelog.

    1. They are incompetent as hell and it’s amazing we don’t have even more operating system problems. In a major Windows update in 2018 they broke gears of war ultimate and have still never fixed it to this day. In fact they removed all but one of the numerous threads over the years complaining about it. Now how in the hell does an update from a company break a game from the same company from their own store and then they still can’t fix it four years later? No matter what your system is it’s going to drop down into the 40s and 30s at times even on lowest settings at 720P and they just don’t care.

      1. I played through Gears of War UE a couple of months ago and it’s shocking how broken it still is. MS is a multi-billion dollar company that’s been in the software business for decades, that made the operating system and the graphics API the game uses, and the game is also made by one of their in-house studios for a game console that MS made. Sure Unreal Engine isn’t their own creation, but practically everything else was in their court. And yet, they screwed it up, bad. It’s honestly mind-blowing just how poorly managed MS is.

        1. That’s because the Indian CEO is much more interested in making sure Linux runs good through their WSL 2 (Windows Subsystem for Linux) and on their Azure cloud offerings, because these are generating much more revenue than their XBOX & Windows gaming division.

After all, there is a reason why Microsoft has become one of the top sponsors of the Linux Foundation:

    2. It’s made by the A Plague Tale Innocence devs. They’re a AA studio. They’re not even a 2nd party studio.

It doesn’t 100 absolve the game of this fault, but goes some way in explaining it.

Plus, no other game currently has the streaming tech this game has.
