New graphics overhaul mod for Red Dead Redemption 2 available for download

Razed Mods has released a graphics overhaul mod for Red Dead Redemption 2, called Visual Redemption. And, in case you weren’t aware, Razed Mods is the man behind the amazing NaturalVision Evolved Mod for GTA 5.

According to its description, Visual Redemption (VisualR) currently improves the shadow distance in each weather, reduces the intensity of heat haze, and fixes bloom render on lights. Additionally, it improves water reflections, fixes moon positioning and more.

Now the good news is that this early version of Visual Redemption is available to the public. Thus, you can go ahead and download it from here.

Speaking of Red Dead Redemption 2, we also suggest taking a look at these other mods. There is a mod that adds “The Matrix” bullet time effect, and there is an AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack for all weapons. Furthermore, there is a mod that adds 13 lore-friendly Mexico map expansions. Another cool mod is this one that enables dismemberment for all pedestrians. Additionally, you can find a mod that restores unused beta models & NPCs, another mod that overhauls its law systemmods that overhaul the interior lighting and add a personal boat, as well as a mod that adds support for AMD’s FSR 2.0. And finally, these mods enhance dual wielding, rebalance economy, add dynamic seasons.

Lastly, you can find below a video that showcases this mod in action.

Have fun!

    1. Vanilla lighting isn’t even ray-traced.

Frankly I wasn’t impressed by RDR2’s lighting after having played Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition.

      1. Metro exodus has already was designed to push ray tracing and tbh metro games always had stellar lighting because it has fixed ligiting conditions whereas red dead 2 ligiting is already good as it looks natural in almost all lighiting conditions .

        1. You must be a city guy if you think RDR2’s lighting looks “natural”.

I’ve lived in the boonies all my life right next to hills and plains, there’s also a lot of snow in the winter.

RDR2’s depiction of any of those natural conditions was underwhelming at best.

Impressive for city rats no doubt, but for field rats, no cigar.

          1. ok hillbilly …lol have a nice day !
Edit : Oh look hillbilly has blocked me , such sophisticated individual lol

    2. This can’t look like trash, since it is vanilla lighting with only a few details fixed and some minor improvements.

“…improves the shadow distance in each weather, reduces the intensity of
heat haze, and fixes bloom render on lights. Additionally, it improves
water reflections, fixes moon positioning and more.”

      1. From the trailer I can notice there is oversaturated colors(from my oled monitor) and regarding the other mentioned weather effects I dont really see how they are “improvements ” how they really add to the already excellent presentation that much…

    3. Are you ok?
You could have at least read what the mod does. It doesn’t change the lighting, it does various small improvements and fixes.
“Currently it improves the shadow distance in each weather, reduces the intensity of heat haze, fixes bloom render on lights, improves water reflections, fixes moon positioning and much more.”

    4. Thats what Im also thinking about , its already good enough and atmospheric for most part and thats serve the nuance of the story just fine. Im not looking for realistic rendition of nature of course, im playing a game and fully realise thats its just that, a game. Probably a lot of people didnt satisfied enough with it, but thats just fine, each on their own opinion.

  1. I’ve been enjoying playing RDR via Xenia (latest Canary build which brings a major performance boost). Much more fun than RDR2, in my opinion.

    1. There is already mod that reduce the blurriness of it, but I never try because Im fine with the DLSS im currently using (the DLL use the latest one from Spider-Man Remastered)

      1. Could you tell me the exact version number?

Also does Rockstar/the game always delete the dlss file and replace it with the old one after closing the game?
