AD Massicuro has shared a new video, showcasing Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered in 8K with Reshade Ray Tracing Shadows and Ambient Occlusion.
As we’ve already reported, the game by default uses Ray Tracing Reflections. However, and thanks to Reshade, PC gamers can further improve the quality of shadows, global illumination and ambient occlusion.
AD Massicuro was also able to add ray-traced “Self-Shadowing”. This allows non-static objects in the environment, such as game characters and interactive objects, to cast shadows on themselves and each other.
From what we know, Nixxes does not plan to implement proper ray-traced shadows or global illumination. Thankfully, though, the team was able to improve the quality of HBAO+ via an update.
Lastly, AD Massicuro has showcased other games with Reshade Ray Tracing. For instance, you can find videos for Resident Evil 2 Remake, Resident Evil 3 Remake, Batman Arkham Knight, and Battlefield 1.
Enjoy!

Amazing 20’s fps and stutters all over the place.
Seriously. I don’t understand why the video creator felt the need to run it at 8k. He’s probably using dlss to claw back some performance, but even then it’s too much. Should’ve just recorded it running at 4k with dlss instead for a much smoother presentation.
Because then clickbait articles can be made featuring “8K!!” in the title. If they could make 16K even if it’s at 10fps they would.
I bet you own a gtx 1050 ti….
I’m sure me having a 3070 is hugely relevant to a guy using a 3090 to show a game at 20fps so he can clickbait “8K!!” to braindead gamers.
FPS looks pretty solid to me
It’s not. That’s why there is no fps or frametimes counter. And even stable 30fps would be lame. There’s no point having even a 32K of resolution if you have to play at a pathetic 30fps.
I think you just dream to can buy a rtx 3090 and being capable to do the same.
Did you watch the video? Gameplay parts are pretty smooth
Sure. If 20’s fps and stutter is what you call “smooth”…
I’m playing this game on PC and I find it’s really good, now I’m really happy I can also play It with these visuals overhaul
Specular & reflections on everything even on paviment and bricks… what is this 2003??
I’m playing it from a couple of days, the game uses SSR on Vanilla version too. I also found some glitches, it’s just the game. I hope they will fix it with next patches
It’s not the game. Reshade’s RTGI doesn’t discern different surfaces/shaders from the game. It treats everything equal, so you end up with ridiculously unrealistic reflecting concrete.
nope, what I mean is that there are some SSR artifacts in the game itself, it’s not related to BuggyMcFly shader
SSR has inherent artifacts, but he meant the Reshade added ones. You can clearly see it at points like at 0:44 https://youtu.be/vfWbKL-LwPs?t=44 at the construction site, where the floor is coarse concrete but with his Reshade preset it suddenly gets all reflective, which is totally unrealistic and doesn’t make any sense.
I just see better shadows and delicate matte reflections, mind that also dry asphalt reflects light in real Life.
Do you see doves perfectly reflected on HARD CONCRETE on a construction site?

The reflections are not from RTGI, they’re from the SSR shader (from the RTGI author, but still)
Ah, yes. The point is that they are wrong. It’s a total nonsense applying a generic SSR shader that doesn’t discern different surfaces/shaders/material and applies reflection to anything.
It just destroys the point of PBR materials
He shared a free preset yesterday and it’s really nice, but Reflections are from RT shader, there Is no Ssr (which at least you don’t need to pay like “RT shader”)
Stunning! I wish I could buy an rtx 3090 to play it like in the video
You don’t need a 3090 to use ReShade.
Meh, doesn’t do anything to fix the lack of ambient light. Npc’s still look dark in bright sunlight.
That reshade Allways looks likt total POS!
How the hell can ppl use that crap. Disgusting as Allways!
Injecting GI, AO or SSR externally will never 100% look correctly, but it often can have transformative results that look good enough.
RTGI + MXAO looks great in Half-Life 2 for example.
Hell, I played CoD 1, 2 and WaW recently with MXAO and it was amazing. Very close to native looking in a lot of spots
Sorry buddy, not in the slightest good enough for me!
It Allways looks like crap IMHO ??
RTGI and SSR are easily more observable in their inaccuracies. But MXAO when tuned looks great in older games that have no AO or poor AO.
I didn’t even need one minute to see this make the game worse.
LOL
What a moronic shlt.
What’s the point if it runs like cr4p?!!
Blackrock EGS score corrupt evil propaganda garbage. Wake the f*k up you trash retards. Educate yourself, or are your braindead. Do you even know that Blackrock owns and controls everything, or you’re a delusional f*king moron.
1440p for the win…8k is for suckers…or people with more money than sense…thats what I tell myself with my 100watt 3070, it makes me feel better about the life choices i’ve made thus far, and knowing once the kid is out of college and society hasn’t collapsed I too will have stupid amounts of money for a 6090 ti xt plus ultra gt edition.
the npc are soo bad in this game, empty lifeless shells with crap AI
