I loved first game, it was such a brutal world, but their combat is their weakest part and this trailer showed me its still gonna be that. Cant wait to jank.
Combat is satisfying as hell. I don’t know how people stand and even praise the dog sh*t combat in souls games and then trash the combat system in PB games. They’re 100 times more satisfying and rewarding.

You’ve been saying this for years, are mentally disabled?
I can answer your question, yes, he is mentally disabled.
This jank has no weight to the actions and not enough feedback. Every movement feels floaty and shortly-animated. Dark Souls is the complete opposite. Everything is heavy (movement, feedback, animations, etc). You swing a sword and it SWINGS. You slam that great sword on the ground and it SMASHES.
Even If PB were to make a masterpiece, I still wouldn’t touch it with that kind of combat.
Everything in DS sounds as if you’re cutting through fruits. Corpses stick to your feet and rag doll as if they’re a piece of weightless paper. DS is the definition of weightless, even your character moves like a weightless slimy creature with no bones. Just those nasty eastern sound effects are enough to make me puke, and I have a high tolerance for bad games. In my opinion, DS is by far the worst thing that happened to the game industry.
PB games are the exact opposite of this, everything sounds right and feels right. It’s not flawless, but it’s beyond masterpiece compared to dark souls.
actually combat is much better than the old games as you can see in the livestreams of people who play it. The problem wasnt the combat though, it was how slow and confusive it was to join a faction and get better equipment.
That flat downward swing animation has basically been in every Piranha bytes game since Gothic 2, which came out like 20 years ago. I like their games i really do despite all the jank but you have wonder how nobody at the studio ever went “Hey, look at all these great games that came in the past 2 decades, cant we borrow some of their mechanics?”.
there is uncut combat footage you can watch, the animations are much better.
Doesnt look a lot better than the first, but I’m getting it anyway. First few hours of an Elex game is more nerve wracking than Silent hill. Love it.
For a combat trailer it doesnt show much. Apparently there is a faction trailer out in november that i missed.
Still gotta check out the first one, if I like it I’ll get this down the line
I’m absolutely looking forward to this one! Elex is awesome.
Looks clunky just like any other PB game. But this clunkiness has certain charm.
Stoked aF for this!! aside from the combat… Elex 1 was a damn amazing game!!
ELEX 1 = its very underrated for a pc rpg……. T_T
