GSC GameWorld and Microsoft have released a new dev diary for STALKER 2. In this dev diary, GSC GameWorld gives us a first look at the updated costumes, several guns and unique custom teeth tool.
STALKER 2 will be a unique blend of FPS, immersive sim and horror, with a really thick atmosphere. The game promises to feature one of the biggest seamless open-world environments, and will be using Unreal Engine 4. Do note that this in-engine gameplay trailer does not represent the quality of the final build. As such, things may change until the game hits the digital shelves.
STALKER 2 aims to feature an epic, non-linear story. Furthermore, your choices will influence both short-term consequences and global outcomes. The game will take place inside the Chernobyl exclusion zone, and it will have new locations along with the old ones.
GSC GameWorld has confirmed that it will be using motion-capture for both bodies and faces, as well as photogrammetry. Additionally, the game will support mods at launch day. The Microsoft Xbox Page also hinted at the game support Ray Tracing effects.
Lastly, the team does not plan to release any gameplay trailer for the game later today during the ID@Xbox event!

looking decent
Wooow… I couldn’t love Stalker any more!
“Look at the detail of the models!! Look the details on the guns!! Look at the teeth of this guy!!! We are using teeth tools!!!”
WTF is with this industry, as much as I love the S.T.A.L.K.E.R series my hopes are really low for this one. We have thousands of mods available for the originals adding tons of interesting gameplay mechanichs wich they could take note and implement them in some ways or another and talk about it, or just show some new features and neat ideas for the new title, yet here we are, a video focusing on some 3D renders and talking about graphics

it’s going to be some autistic dumbed down casual shet, I promise you that.
Im expecting a Metro like game with a clunky UI designed to work well with a controller. I really hope I’m wrong.
While i hope your wrong… i wouldn’t be surprised if you end up correct. Way to many games features self gimpification to fit all input types including controllers that tbh are unsuitable for this gametype.
It’s on Xbox, your expectations should be even lower
the reason we got mods is because some mp build of the game was laked with official dev tools before the game came out on some pc they got on some event for demonstration. If you ask me the most important thing stalker needs in terms of modding is new maps. On this new game the best they can do is have a large map and let people make their own stories like ac odyssey did. The stalker games dont need voice acting of cutscenes you just talk to generic squating slav with balaclava and you get written dialogue and choices, add tons of guns and there you go, awesome game that could last forever with more mods that add new missions and weapons and environments. Instead of that they go for “ZOMG look at this guy’s teeth”. Id rather show me your moody environments and confirm modding tools.
Big time worried. It should be a systems & physics driven mil-sim horror survival RPG but it’s looking like open world CoD or Metro. I love Stalker so much, I’m going to be gutted I know it.
Who cares about features and mechanics…
In a flood of information, graphics draw attention the most, reaching someone who might not have looked otherwise.
Patience kiddo
I feel you bro, but it doesn’t look so bad, in fact, it looks quite nice.
Some off-screen gameplay was leaked, take a look here

Yeap that’s how the game will look…boys and girls don’t forget your bag of salt with this one…
Wow they can change the teeth of the NPC’s!! (in a series were most characters have their face covered by a mask)
I like the designs, the level of detail…but it says nothing about the game itself.
I really wasn’t expecting all that. WOW!!! Stalker 2 and Atomic Heart are both looking dreamy. Hope they come out this year
Im not overly concearned about how this game will turn out at launch. I LOVE the STALKER games but thier launches have always been bumpy at best. AS LONG as they release mod tools (I believe they have confirmed mods at launch) I have evey ounce of faith that the community will improve the game in every aspect and it will be something I’ll be playing for years to come.
i am not concerned how starfield will turn on launch as long as its moddable as fallout and skyrim and lets you visit multiple planets and has spaceship combat, the modders can mod it to function like freelancer and make some good planets and quests and everything else that bethesda sucks at.
Welcome to current year where people want the devs to make the base game and the modding tools so the modders can actually make the game good.
Hasn’t that been every year?
Not mod tools but UE itself, but it should be more open in the files to allow for modding. Depends on how they build the game really. It won’t be like the originals and X-Ray engine though. Not in 2021, that was from a happier more relaxed time.
Oi mate, got a license to speak that?
