SuperData has shared its monthly report, stating that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla sold 1.7 million copies at launch. According to SuperData, this is 50% more than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey at launch. However, and despite these sales numbers, in-game revenue was down 62%. This may may explain why Ubisoft added an XP booster into the game.
This falls in line with what Ubisoft has already stated about the game’s launch. According to Ubi, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla had twice the number of active players than Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Moreover, Valhalla was Ubisoft’s top-selling PC launch ever.
In other news, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War sold 5.7 million digital units in November, a 7% increase compared to the previous franchise record-holder Black Ops 4. In addition, the ongoing success of the free-to-play Warzone mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare helped drive interest in the latest title. Thanks to Warzone, Modern Warfare had 2.7 times as many players as Cold War in November 2020.
Lastly, Among Us had roughly half a billion monthly active users in November. The PC version accounted for the majority of revenue from August to November (64%) despite having an extremely small share of the total player base (3% in November).

so the first game is still their biggest title
that should tell them something but it is like talking to a wall
So 1.7 more than it deserved
Video games are in a pretty sad state, hurts to see.
Pretty much!
This is depressing to see!
Is there a mod to remove female warriors from the game, I don’t want my viking battles sounding like a hen house with high pitched screams all over the place.
obviously not. This is ubisoft after all
Game is pretty good, exploration is fun and writing is good. Much much better than the trash that was Odyssey.
Lol ret4rd. Odyssey at least has nice setting. This one is a plain dull s**t.
Yea. Go look at your pretty pictures as the ret4rds spout garbage, that’s all you want right. Fckn pretty colourful garbage!
So how is Odyssey garbage and Valhalla not? What does Valhalla offers that Odyssey doesn’t?
Agreed. Odyssey was s**t but i am enjoying Valhalla.
Say what you want about Ubisoft, but I’m thoroughly enjoying this game. Fun and brutal combat, great exploration, decent writing, incredible world design and nice graphics. Of course it’s not revolutionary in any way, but Im having fun, and that’s what matters. But God those waman are ugly, like Jesus f*king christ I hope they get modded pretty or something.
It’s….. okay. That’s the most I can really say. There’s certainly some really nice vistas, and the soundtrack is unsurprisingly top notch with the return of Jesper Kyd, but as a long-time AC fan who wants to love the series the way I always did before my interest started waning greatly with every release since AC: Syndicate, I have to admit that the decline in interest hasn’t ceased or even slowed down with this game. It’s enjoyable enough as an open-world, historical action-adventure game that I can probably finish the main story, but that’s about it.
My enthusiasm for Assassin’s Creed is at its all time low, and that’s as a historical fan that wants to give the game every chance possible. I don’t think those unfamiliar with Assassin’s Creed or its history will find this game unsatisfying at all, in fact, they probably think it’s really cool and unique, and will appreciate the artwork and soundtrack that these games have always been known for, despite the decline in narrative, as well as gameplay quality, but for a true AC fan, I just feel lost in these past few Assassin’s Creed games, unable to find the series I once loved anywhere no matter how hard I try to look.
its the same game as the last two. The reason they are ugly is because its a western game so they need to make then un attractive.
This goes double twice if the game is made in canada.
Why do comment still need to be approved by DSOGaming? I thought we all agreed on a “anything goes” type of policy for the comment section?
Humanity fails again.
thats low for this series
According to this according to that. if it was even close to 1m they would have said so.
