This 2.8GB AI-enhanced mod overhauls the textures of Half-Life, Blue Shift and Opposing Force

Modder ‘Leaufai’ has released a new AI-enhanced HD Texture Pack for the classic Half-Life games. This mod, which is 2.8GB in size, overhauls the textures of Half-Life, Half-Life: Opposing Force and Half-Life: Blueshift.

As its description reads, Half-Life: ReSrced packs HD textures upscaled from the original low-res textures using advanced AI-powered software. Combined with detail textures and support for a variety of HD model packs for Half-Life and its expansion packs, ReSrced makes the classic game look sharp and modern, while keeping true to the original aesthetic.

This mod equires the Xash3D FWGS engine which is included in the download. Furthermore, this mod works with the Steam version of Half-Life on Windows. Other platforms or versions of Half-Life might be compatible, though the modder can guarantee about it.

In order to showcase these new textures, Leaufai released the following video.

Lastly, the modder suggests also using High Definition 2 Pack (aka Super Definition Pack). This is a fan-made compilation that overhauls the game’s 3D models.

Enjoy!

  1. Well… This couldn’t have come at a worse time. Sure, it includes Blue Shift and Opposing Force, but now that Black Mesa is complete… There’s not much use for it.

    1. Yea but black mesa is a remake there is many changes to the level design and gameplay mechanics and sometimes it feels less balanced than the original

    2. Black Mesa plays completely differently from the original.
And who cares about the timing?
      This is a free mod

      1. Black mesa is also free tho, until xen, and before the graphical update. But ye, this mod is amazing lol. It makes me wanna replay the game for the 55 time.

  2. there was another one like a decals/shaders thing that makes the game more shinny, i dont remember the name of it.

Also can this work with brutal half life?

  3. The installation directions are messed up, so I abandoned my attempt to install it.

    Step 1 says to unpack.

Step 2 says skip this step if you’re not doing Blue Shift

Step 3 says now that we installed it according to step 1…….but Step 1 didnt cover how to install it, just unpacking it. LOL

I could just be not fully awake this morning and not “getting it”, but I sense something’s off with the directions.

*And as for the 2nd link in the article (Super High Def pack), a commentator on ModDB took the guy to task for basically using other modders’ assets, doing a few tweaks and releasing them all as his own. I guess it doesnt matter much but there’s a few probs with the textures.
