Koch Media’s CEO, Klemens Kundratitz, has stated that the next Saints Row game, presumably Saints Row V, will be announced in 2020. Unfortunately, Kundratitz has not revealed any additional details about this new Saints Row game. Still, he did state that the Saints Row franchise is really important for Koch Media.
As Kundratitz told GamesIndustry:
“Saints Row is very close to our hearts, and we’ll talk about it next year. For the time being, we just wanted to get the word out that it’s coming and it’s going to be great.”
Regarding the similarities and differences between Saints Row and Agents of Mayhem, Kundratitz had this to say.
“Saints Row is Saints Row. The two games are similar, for sure, but they’re also completely different. With Volition, we have the creators of all the Saints Row games as an internal studio. They’re not going to be distracted by anything else from creating our next game under this important franchise.”
So yeah, don’t expect a VGA 2019 announcement for this new Saints Row game. Still, I’m pretty sure that all Saints Row fans will be happy to know that a new game will be officially announced next year.

I hope the next Saints Row won’t have the super power gimmicks. That thing broke the open world in SR 4.
It’s weird that the more freedom games like Saints Row and Just Cause gives, the more bored I become. In contrast I would spent hundreds of hours harvesting resources in open world survival games or grinding for XPs in RPGs. When I unknowingly bought a DLC that gave me all the XP points and tons of cash for Sleeping Dogs I immediately loose interest.

Return to your roots or don’t bother. That super power sh*t took all the fun out of fighting for turf and feeling like I belong to a gang.
A Saints Row game in the current year is almost guaranteed to be an unbearable politicized cringefest. I’m not looking forward to this.
why should it return to being a GTA clone though?
the 3rd game had undeniably more entertaining missions.
I’m actually going back to specifically play this game again just for how fun it was.
too many fun memories with the 3rd game for sure.
they went for separating themselves from typical open-world games.
it had great and fun core fundamentals at heart.

Eh, I liked 4 a lot. I wouldn’t mind it at all if they went more grounded, though, like 3s gameplay and tone, with some of 2s superior systems (mainly customization).
So basically an insanely early announcement, for a game that likely won’t be out till 2022/2023…
Guys, just stop the announcement hype and actually work on the game, then announce it 6 months before release, like the good old days.
oh boi i am excited and disappointed at same time. excited for sequel but disappointed cause it will be epic store exclusive knowing its deep silver. hoping epic store will add achievements and activity feed by then.

If they are thinking Shumer when they should be thinking Chappelle, it’ll tank. My favourite franchise, but they have to have the balls to write a proper sequel to 2 & 3 or Volition might as well not bother.
Always enjoyed this series more than GTA other than maybe GTA3 and Vice City. I would rather play Saints Row over GTA 4 and 5 any day. I remember driving in Saints 3 was hilariously fun while driving in GTA 4 was a literal chore. But the circle jerk love for that series is unbeatable.
Contrary to popular opinion, I loved Saints 3 and 4 (3 was better though). Unfortunately with today’s social climate and having seen Agents of Mayhem, I don’t have much hope for this one…
