As we’ve informed you back in November, Wargaming is preparing a big graphics overhaul for World of Tanks. Wargaming plans to upgrade its graphics engine and bring new numerous graphical effects to it. And today, the team released a tech demo via which PC gamers can test this new graphics engine of World of Tanks on their machines.
The new graphics engine for World of Tanks is called Core Engine and will add new shading features as dynamic dirt, dynamic wetness, advanced material blending and vertex animation, particles improvements, as well as water deformation. Moreover, Wargaming will substitute almost all map elements — such as terrain, water, flora, lighting, shadows, buildings and other objects — with new ones, developed from scratch.
The switch to the new engine will happen when World of Tanks’ update 1.0 hits the Internet. Wargaming has not revealed when this will happen, however we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
You can download the World of Tanks enCore demo from its official website. Wargaming has also released some new trailers for World of Tanks that can be viewed below!

While he is a die-hard PC gamer, his gaming roots can be found on consoles. John loved – and still does – the 16-bit consoles, and considers SNES to be one of the best consoles. Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2. Man I miss this game.
But I sure as hell don’t miss the lifers (people who only play WoT)
Every match some fool would say “We will lose because we got a 49.5% WR player on our side” And the guy saying it, has 49.8%.
It was just toxic to a degree and honestly, I felt like people either cared too much or didn’t care enough to try and win.
I even spent some decent money on the game. Oh well.
At least it’s not Armored Warfare, that game I wasted money on and haven’t even played since they basically ruined it, especially with the recent Steam release, what a joke.
I have to stop thinking I am investing in my future of retired gaming.
Glad it is finally getting a 1.0 release after over 7 years of development!
People whinge about Star Citizen for being in development for only just 5 years… All it takes is a little patience.
This looks gorgeous! gonna try it out 🙂
Good game ruined by a very toxic community.

It’s a shame that the game has long been ruined by the all-encompassing randomness of damage, penetration and basically everything being up to chance rather than straight mathematic calculation.
