Cloud Imperium has released a brand new trailer for Squadron 42; the single-player mode of Star Citizen. This new trailer showcases some of the top actors that will be featured in it like Gary Oldman, Mark Hamill, Liam Cunningham, Gillian Anderson and more.
This trailer also gives us a glimpse at the main enemies that players will fight in Squadron 42. Squadron 42, like Star Citizen, will be powered by the Lumberyard Engine and while it looks amazing, it’s not as impressive as it was when the game was first showcased. It looks awesome, don’t get me wrong but take for example a look at Gillian Anderson at 2:11. She looks so flat, fake and… plastic?
Now I know I’m nit-picking here and that Cloud Imperium has a lot of time in order to further improve things; again Squadron 42 looks, for the most part, incredible. I mean, look at 2:28. Now that scene looks impressive. So yeah, it appears that right now there are some inconsistencies when it comes to its lighting system.
Furthermore, it appears that some character models, like Mark Hamill’s 3D model, have been noticeably upgraded.
Cloud Imperium stated that it will release a roadmap in December so we’re really looking forward to it. Until then, enjoy the following trailer!
