Outcast A New Beginning new feature

Outcast – A New Beginning gets a combat trailer

THQ Nordic just dropped the new combat trailer for Outcast – A New Beginning. Outcast – A New Beginning is the sequel to one of the first games that took advantage of voxels on PC. Outcast, alongside Delta Force, pushed some truly big environments when they came out. And, a lot of PC gamers enjoyed these two games.

In Outcast 2, you step into the shoes of Cutter Slade, a former Navy SEAL known for his dry wit from the 90s. Your adventure unfolds on the alien world of Adelpha, where you’ll aid the local Talans in their struggles. Thus, you’ll engage in fast-paced battles against invading robot forces.

To be honest, I wasn’t too impressed with this trailer. Like in most modern games, the main character constantly talks to himself, which doesn’t make much sense. And I’d be okay if there were simple one-liners like in old-school FPS games such as Duke Nukem 3D or Shadow Warrior. However, here, it feels awkward and cringeworthy.

From what I can see, the game will also have a weapon upgrade system. And yes, players will also have some powers at their disposal. This is pretty much what you’d expect from a third-person action game. I also wasn’t impressed by the skills that THQ Nordic showcased. Everything feels like we’ve seen it before.

I don’t know, perhaps I’m too harsh on this. It might turn out to be a fun action game. This trailer, however, did not sell me on it. It feels like a “by-the-numbers” trailer.

Lastly, there is still no ETA on when Outcast – A New Beginning will come out.

So, take a look at this latest trailer and stay tuned for more!
