Activision has shared a new trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 that gives us our first look at its DMZ Mode. For those who don’t know, DMZ is Call of Duty’s extraction mode. So, if you are a fan of extraction shooters, you should definitely watch the trailer.
DMZ will have a living world with unpredictable enemy encounters, weather, and objectives. All of these will be brought together by meaningful match-to-match progression and inventory systems.
COD: MW4’s DMZ is designed to be a deeper and more connected survival mode. It focuses on what players enjoyed most from earlier versions. The mode takes place in the Hajin exclusion zone and is tied to the story of the Campaign.
Players drop into a dangerous area and choose how they want to survive. They can move deeper into risky zones for better rewards, hunt high-value targets, defend against stronger enemies, complete story missions, or extract before things get too dangerous.
After the events of the Modern Warfare 4 campaign, a danger zone remains across the Korean Peninsula. It is full of abandoned weapons, old military tech, and new threats. This area is called Hajin. It is a large zone made for exploration and high-risk missions. Players who go deeper can find hidden items and secrets.
Players will also continue the story through replayable story missions with squad-based action. They can take part in operations with changing events, growing danger, and unique moments in each match.
In DMZ, enemy factions, moving patrols, and random world events make every mission different. As the danger level goes up, enemies become stronger. More troops will arrive, and elite units may be sent to hunt players. The game will also have better AI enemies. They work together in groups and react to player actions. This allows for bigger fights in open areas, with smarter infantry and vehicle combat.
Activision will release Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23. For what it’s worth, the publisher has not yet revealed the game’s PC requirements. However, we do know that the PC version will have support for Ray Tracing. It will also include different upscaling tools and frame generation options to help improve performance.
Enjoy the trailer and stay tuned for more!
