GTA 6 vs GTA 5

Grand Theft Auto 6 vs Grand Theft Auto 5 Early Graphics Comparison

YouTube’s ‘Cycu1’ has shared a comparison video between Grand Theft Auto 6 and Grand Theft Auto 5. This early graphics comparison video will give you an idea of how much better the sequel to GTA5 will be. So, go ahead and take a look at it.

In this video, the YouTuber compared the PC version of GTA 5 with the recently released in-engine trailer of GTA 6. The PC version was running at 4K on Max Settings. Moreover, Cycu1 has used scenes that look almost the same.

Now as we can see, Grand Theft Auto 6 is a next-gen visual upgrade over the PC version of GTA5. From the lighting to the amount of NPCs, everything looks better in GTA6. And I know, PC gamers can make GTA5 look even better with mods. However, no amount of mods can make GTA5 match the quality of GTA6.

Here is an example. Take the following video that showcased a heavily modded version of GTA 5, running on an NVIDIA RTX4090. At first glance, and while not driving, GTA5 on PC looks great. However, once the player starts driving, everything falls apart. From major pop-ins to various flickers due to Reshade, the modded version of GTA5 cannot catch up to what current-gen games can achieve. Don’t get me wrong, it still looks amazing. However, it’s nowhere close to GTA6.

As we’ve already said, the bad news here is that GTA 6 will skip PC at launch. And yes, we called it way before the publisher revealed the platforms for which this new GTA would come out. And I’m certain that a PR statement would read something like this: “We need more time for the PC version so that we can release it in a polished state“.

This sounds like a big pile of crap though. Keep in mind we’re talking about Rockstar here; a team with a lot of resources at its disposal. This isn’t a small dev team. Seriously, this sounds similar to the excuse 2K Games and EA made for not porting the current-gen versions of their sports games to PC. So let’s be honest, we all know the real reasons why GTA 6 will not come out on PC alongside its console cousins. And while we’re at it, what happened to the Ray Tracing effects of GTA5 that are still exclusive to consoles? Riiiiiight.

Stay tuned for more!
