There is no denying that FakeFactory Cinematic is the best mod for Half Life 2. The aim of this particular mod is to raise the outdated graphical appearance of the Half-Life 2 trilogy to a state-of-the-art level, while giving it a more stressed, darker and minatory look. Cinematic Mod adds an emotional cinematic music soundtrack, optional HD models and unused content from the original games, and the modder behind is currently working on its 2013 version. Valve’s Marc Laidlaw has released a video teaser of something. In this video, Laidlaw questions himself whether he should ‘do it’. This video shows off an elevator and Laidlaw’s finger is almost touching the button for the third floor. However, towards the end of the video, Laidlaw pushes the ‘L’ button. By putting these two together, we may be witnessing the first official teaser for Left 4 Dead 3. Valve announced today that its free-to-play MOBA style title, DOTA 2, is currently available on Mac and Linux. Valve has also released a new update for it, as well as the system requirements for these two versions. The SC Team has released a new version of its co-op mod for Valve’s classic first-person shooter title, Half Life. As its description suggests, this mod lets players fight computer-controlled monsters through the original Half-Life storyline or hundreds of available co-operative scenarios. The entire Internet was blown away yesterday when a mysterious update for Half Life 2 got out. That update messed up the game, turning all voices into Korean. Naturally, a lot of people thought that Valve has launched an ARG for Half Life 3, especially after a – possible – hint that was featured in the PC Gamer magazine, something that was strengthened by the latest tweet from Valve itself. Well, unfortunately everyone, there is no ARG. Valve’s Korean message did not contain any secret messages after all, PC Gamer admitted that its image was nothing more than a joke and Valve’s Marc Laidlaw confirmed that the update was something that Valve has been doing this for a while as a necessary housekeeping. Surprising news everyone. DOTA 2 has entered its open beta phase (meaning that it’s completely free to everyone) and nobody has noticed it. Hell, even Valve has not sent any press release for it as of yet. As we can clearly see below, though, DOTA 2 does not require any beta key at this point. In short, everyone can log into Steam, search for DOTA 2, download and play it. And we can confirm that this is the real deal.
