Sonic X-Treme Engine V037 – New Version Released, Features 150 Original Testmaps To Playthrough

SonicRetro’s member JollyRoger has been working at recreating Sonic X-Treme on the PC, and has recently released a new version of his project. This new unofficial version of Sonic X-Treme for the PC packs 150 original testmaps to playthrough, offers the ability to play music, and incorporates A camera distance Function which can be tweaked in each .def file to counterbalance level depth scaling differences vs Sonic’s distance to camera. Fans Recreate Saturn’s Sonic X-Treme for the PC, Release First Playable Version

SonicRetro members JollyRoger, Tichua, Bormon and Andrew75 have been working at recreating this Sonic X-Treme – or should we say porting – to the PC via OpenGL. Fans recreate Sonic X-Treme, the cancelled Saturn game

Back in the 32bit days, Sonic X-Treme was meant to drive Saturn sales to new heights. Unfortunately, SEGA decided to cancel the game as it was not up to the Sonic standards. That didn’t seem enough though, as fans decided to recreate this cancelled Saturn game on the PC. So, Sonic fans, meet Project AXSX.
