Irdeto launches Denuvo Anti-Cheat solution in order to combat cheating in video games and esports

At GDC 2019, Irdeto announced the launch of its Anti-Cheat solution to protect against cheating in video games and esports, called Denuvo Anti-Cheat. According to the press release, Denuvo Anti-Cheat prevents cheaters from manipulating and extracting data or code to gain an advantage over other gamers. Devil May Cry 5 has been cracked on launch day, does not contain Denuvo at all

Now here is something really interesting. Devil May Cry 5 has just been released on the PC and the game has already been cracked. What’s really interesting here, however, is that the cracked version uses a Denuvo-free executable file, meaning that it does not contain the Denuvo anti-tamper tech at all. Denuvo 5.3 anti-tamper tech has been cracked, Hitman 2 cracked days prior to its official release

Things are not looking good for Denuvo. A few days ago, we reported about Denuvo 5.2 getting cracked in just five days by a new video-games cracking group. And today, this very same group was able to crack Denuvo 5.3 and Hitman 2 two days prior to its official release. Irdeto’s latest report: Major sports title illegally downloaded 355K times in its first two weeks

Irdeto has shared some new data from its recent research regarding PC gaming piracy. As the press release reads, Irdeto tracked the downloads of a major sports title on P2P networks after the title, which did not include anti-tamper protection, was cracked on the same day of its release.
