Seems that everyone wants to get a job at DICE as today both Yuriy O’Donnel and Sebastien Lagarde announced that they will be joining DICE tomorrow. Lagarde was previously working at DONTNOD and was responsible for some lighting techniques that made Remember Me stand out from the crowd. Total War: Rome 2 – Alpha versus Retail Video Comparison

Our dear friends over at PCGamesHardware have created an interesting comparison between the alpha and the retail version of Total War: Rome II. As we can clearly see, the alpha version had a specific color grading effect that is missing from the retail version. Not only that, but the whole lighting system seems better in the alpha version. To be honest, the retail version feels a bit bland in some scenes, so we don’t know what had gone wrong with it.  HDR and bloom effects also seem better enhanced in the alpha version. Moreover, it comes as no surprise that the first set of screenshots for Rome 2 were bullcraps (in short, photoshopped) and nothing more. Enjoy the video below! According to the team, the variety of hardware and general system specifications can cause issues for some people and it is urgently working to help get them the right experience. The team aims to tweak the balancing, AI routines and other features now that it is getting real-time metric feedback from thousands of players. According to its description, this new ROME II trailer uses Hannibal’s remarkable achievement to illustrate the multitude of ways players can outfox their opponents, and demonstrates the breath-taking scope and variety of the campaign map. Creative Assembly revealed today the PC system requirements for its upcoming strategy title, Total War: Rome II. According to the specs, Total War: Rome II will be scalable and will run on Windows XP machines and will require at least 35GB of free hard disc space. In addition, DX9.0c GPUs will be supported. SEGA revealed today the release date, pre-order bonus and Collector’s Edition for Total War: ROME II. The global release date for the most keenly-anticipated Total War game yet will be September 3rd, 2013 across all territories on both physical and digital formats. The game is now available for pre-order from the SEGA Store and other retailers world-wide.
