CD Projekt RED has unveiled the first screenshots from the mods that are currently being made via REDKit for The Witcher 2. REDkit is a set of tools for modders which will allow any player to create their own content for the PC version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, such as new, non-linear adventures, great looking locations and much more. These first screenshots look visually great, though those rocks (third image) looks a little bit unpolished. CD Projekt RED has revealed some new screenshots for the third part of the ‘The Witcher’ series. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be powered by the REDengine 3 gane engine, and is planned for release on PC, PS4 and the next Xbox. The game is scheduled for a 2014 release, and our guess is that these screenshots are still with the old renderer (CDPR is currently working on a DX11 renderer that will be way better than what REDengine 2’s renderer is cabable of). Kotaku has unveiled some new and interesting information about the third part of the ‘The Witcher’ series. According to CD Projekt RED’s lead gameplay designer Maciej Szczesnik, head of marketing Michal Platkow-Gilewski, and CD Projekt Red Managing Director Adam Badowski, The Witcher 3 will be DRM-free, will feature an improved combat system, will be packed with a new animation system, and will be supported as much as The Witcher 2 was. We’ve all been wondering what next-gen consoles will bring to the table, and according to CD Projekt RED, these new consoles will be more powerful than we initially thought. According to CD Projekt RED’s MD and studio head Adam Badowski next-gen consoles will most probably unify requirements, meaning that all versions will look really close to each other. Badowski confirmed that PC allows for more at the moment, however new platforms are stepping up and will – most probably – unify requirements for future games.

According to the company, these shots are from an early build of the game and – ironically – looks better than most current triple-A titles.
