ArmA 3 promises to be one of the best games of 2013 and Bohemia has just released a presentation preview E3 video for it. ArmA 3 will also be present in E3 where three operatives of the Arma 3 development team will be presenting a variety of showcases, such as diving, helicopters and night ops – using Camp Maxwell, a military outpost on Stratis, as the base of operations. DayZ is awesome. No, DayZ is mind-blowing (although a bit rough around the edges). No, DayZ is the new Counter-Strike. Yeap, that’s right. Remember when CS was released and Half-Life saw an increase in its sales? Well, that is happening right now with DayZ and ArmA 2. Great news for zombie fans as the team behind the amazing ArmA II mod, DayZ, has released a new version for it. DayZ 1.6.0 brings a new Tank Trap kit model, Hatchet for chopping wood in forests, female survivor options, as well as heat packs for increasing temperature in an emergency and numerous fixes. PC gamers, get ready for a mod that will leave you speechless. DayZ is a Zombie mod for ArmA 2 that has enormous potential. Remember how Counter-Strike was revolutionary back in the Half-Life days? Well, DayZ is that good and offers a unique experience. Unlike all other Zombie games, this mod focuses on human interaction/emotion and survival. When you start off you have a pistol with a couple mags, some water and a can of beans. You have no map/compass and have no idea where you are. And then the fun starts. Bohemia Interactive has released a new beta version for the remake of the classic Carrier Command game. This second version of Carrier Command: Gaea Mission’s Beta fixes some issues that were reported from the community and adds a Film Grain effect, DoF and better weather effects. In addition, trees should appear like ‘dancing’ as the wind should be having a consistent effect on a collection of trees and the Map should be a little animated when you have zoomed out. Good news for ArmA fans as some new footage from ArmA 3 has emerged. Czech gaming channel “Gamepage.cz” interviewed Bohemia’s Ivan Buchta in which the YouTube gaming channel has featured some new footage from the company’s upcoming military sim. Although the footage was captured in low-res, it looks great and you’ll be able to take a look at the new Stratis island. ArmA 3 is currently slated for a late 2012 release on the PC. Enjoy! YouTube’s member ‘MulleDK13’ has uploaded an interesting analysis of the ‘Stratis Showcase’ trailer for ArmA 3. As MulleDK13 points out, ArmA 3 features new and improved physics, heat haze effects, volumetric clouds, improved muzzle flashes, as well as improved lighting and clouds at night.
