Electronic Arts and BioWare have announced a new multiplayer DLC for Mass Effect 3. Available to download at no additional charge, Mass Effect 3: Retaliation ups the challenge by adding treacherous environmental hazards to existing maps and will introduce the infamous Collectors as a new enemy faction in multiplayer. Mass Effect 3: Retaliation will be available for download on October 9 on Xbox LIVE and the Origin client software and on PlayStation Network in North America on October 9 and in Europe on October 10. BioWare has revealed the changelog of Mass Effect 3’s latest patch that is planned for release this Thursday. This update fixes various issues, re-designs the Singularity power, fixes an exploit that allowed players to be invincible and invisible to enemies and another one where players were able to use rockets from other weapons. Now this is big bummer for all those interested in the upcoming trilogy package of Mass Effect. BioWare has updated the official website of Mass Effect Trilogy, stating that most of the SP missions that were released in the form of DLCs won’t be featured in this so called ‘complete’ package. Surprise surprise. Yesterday we posted an Editorial on whether we should blame fans for Ray Muzyka and Greg Zeschuk’s decision to leave BioWare and the games industry. The whole gaming industry was shocked a couple of hours ago, when BioWare announced that its co-founders were leaving the company. The reason behind Ray Muzyka’s resignation was as typical as ever. Ray stated that he wanted to move on to pursue an entirely different set of challenges. What really striked us, though, was Greg Zeschuk excuse. Greg said that he reached an unexpected point in his life where he no longer has the passion that he once did for the company, for the games, and for the challenge of creation.
