AMD reveals the specifications of its upcoming Ryzen APUs

AMD today revealed the specifications of its first desktop APUs that will be based on the “Zen” architecture. The red team will be initially launching two APUs; the Ryzen 3 2200G and the Ryzen 5 2400G. The Ryzen 5 2400G will be priced at USD $169 whereas the Ryzen 3 2200G will be priced at $99, and both of them will be available on February 12th. Microsoft halts distribution of Spectre & Meltdown fixes on AMD systems after reports of unbootable PCs

It appears that Microsoft and AMD have messed things up. According to reports, a number PC systems with AMD’s processors were boot failing after installing the Spectre and Meltdown fixes. Microsoft investigated those reports and discovered that some AMD chipsets are getting into an unbootable state after applying those fixes. As a result of that, Microsoft has stopped distributing these fixes on AMD systems. AMD’s 2nd generation Ryzen CPUs are coming out in April 2018, Vega 7nm GPU launches in 2018

AMD has just unveiled some interesting new information about its 2nd generation Ryzen CPUs, as well as a refresh model for its Vega GPUs. Both Zen+ and Vega 7nm are planned for a 2018 release. And even though we don’t know exactly when Vega 7nm will hit stores, we do know that AMD plans to release its new CPUs in April 2018. Old-gen and current-gen consoles, AMD CPUs and smartphones are also vulnerable to the Spectre threat

Yesterday, a lot of AMD fans were celebrating as it was discovered that Intel’s CPUs were affected by a fundamental design flaw (codenamed ‘Meltdown‘). And while this issue has been addressed by Microsoft and Intel, another design flaw has surfaced that affects all CPUs. Codenamed ‘Spectre‘, this security threat can affect old-gen and current-gen consoles, handhelds, smartphones, and PC systems using both Intel’s and AMD’s CPUs. AMD will fix, after all, the DX9 crashing issues in an upcoming hotfix

Yesterday, we informed you about a ridiculous statement from one of AMD’s technical support engineers who claimed that the newly introduced crashing issues on some DX9 wouldn’t be addressed via a future update. Naturally, this prompted a lot of AMD users to contact the red team and express their dissatisfaction and as a result of that backlash, the team announced that an upcoming hotfix will resolve these crashing issues. AMD will, most likely, not address the DX9 crashing issues introduced by the Adrenalin driver

Back in December, AMD released a brand new driver for its graphics cards, the AMD Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition. This new driver brought some new functionalities such as a new Overlay feature (default ALT+R) allowing management of certain Radeon Settings features while in-game or on desktop such as Radeon ReLive, Radeon FreeSync, Radeon Chill, Frame Rate Target Control, Display Color, and Performance Monitoring.
