Microsoft has officially announced Xbox One, the next Xbox console that is planned for release later this year. During this event – which was disappointing to say the least – Activision has revealed the official trailer of Call of Duty: Ghosts. Activision and Treyarch announced that their latest DLC Map Pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops II is now available on PC and PS3. Uprising includes four new multiplayer maps, plus “Mob of the Dead,” a bone-chilling new Zombies experience that takes players to the notorious prison island of Alcatraz, where four of Hollywood’s most iconic mobster actors, including Ray Liotta, Michael Madsen, Chazz Palminteri and Joe Pantoliano, lend their talents to the game to bring this horrifying adventure to life. Remember Nvidia’s and Activision’s facial tech demos? They were amazing, weren’t they? Well get ready for a new facial animation capture technology that looks even better. Motion Capture Systems Developers have released a tech demo, showcasing their real-time markerless Facial Motion Capture System in Action. It looks miles better than what Nvidia and Activision showcased a few months ago. Of course we don’t know whether this new tech will be used in games or not, however the same can be said about Nvidia’s and Activision’s demos. Well, it was bound to happen, eventually. In its latest financial report, Activision revealed that World of Warcraft has lost 1.3 million subscribers in the last three months. Despite that, WoW is still the most famous and profitable subscription-based MMO on the planet, with more than 8.3 million subscribers. However, that decline proves that F2P MMOs are gaining ground, and that it will be tougher for newer games (that are subscription-based) to meet the success of WoW (or even surpass it). Activision has issued a press release for Call of Duty: Ghosts, announcing the next part in the Call of Duty franchise. That press release didn’t feature important information to be honest, and as it was hinted, the game will be unveiled during Microsoft’s May event. It’s pretty obvious by now that the next Call of Duty title will be called Call of Duty: Ghosts. Activision has been gearing up for a reveal today (or at least what’s the word on the street), however it seems that a poster may have already leaked its release date. Activision has just launched a teaser page on the official website for Call of Duty. Although the source code of this new page does not reveal much, we’re pretty sure that this page is meant for the rumored reveal of the next Call of Duty title. In short, this new page asks viewers whether they want to get added on it. From the looks of it, the profile pics of those who are being added form some letters or an image (or an icon).
