It appears that the first screenshots for Resident Evil 9, Resident Evil Requiem, have been leaked online. These screenshots show the main protagonist, Grace Ashcroft, an enemy, and some of the game’s environments.
Resident Evil: Requiem will use the powerful RE Engine, and it looks amazing. It’s a single-player survival horror game. You’ll play as Grace Ashcroft, and your goal is to stay alive in a terrifying adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
The devs say that thanks to new technology and their years of experience, the game will have deep characters and super immersive gameplay that pulls you into the story like never before.
The leaker also shared some new details about the game. However, I suggest taking them with a grain of salt. At least for now.
The leaker claimed that this info comes from a 30-minute demo that Capcom showed to the press. In that demo, the devs showcase the game with first-person and third-person perspectives. In other words, this RE game may support both first-person and third-person modes. This is also something that Steam hinted when the game’s store page went live. Capcom had originally included the “FPS” tag, which it then removed.
In the demo, Grace walked around opening doors and turning on lights. Some type of monster took a bite out of her shoulder and she healed with a syringe. She did not use any spray to heal herself, like the classic RE games.
There are rumors that RE: Requiem will have two main characters. One of them is Grace. The other might be Leon S. Kennedy. This has also been hinted at by the well-known insider, Dusk Golem.
Capcom will release Resident Evil Requiem on February 27th, 2026. Some preview articles may go live later this week. We might also get more news or screenshots for it at Gamescom 2025.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
