Ashen 4K Screenshots Gallery

Ashen is a new action adventure RPG that is heavily inspired by Dark Souls. In fact, this is a complete copycat of FromSoftware’s title, albeit it features an open-world environment and a different visual style. Since the game has already been released, we’ve decided to capture some 4K screenshots from it.

In order to capture these screenshots, we used our EVGA GeForce RTX2080Ti XC Gaming graphics card. Naturally, we used the Ultra settings and as we can see, NVIDIA’s GPU had no trouble at all running the game with more than 60fps.

Ashen is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and cleverly enough, its developers have used a cartoon-ish style. As such, the game’s art direction is really interesting however I wasn’t really amazed by what was shown on screen. There are some cool effects but overall I wasn’t really wow-ed by what I saw. Then again, this is a game from a small studio so we shouldn’t expect mind-blowing visuals.

If you are into Dark Souls games, you should definitely check out Ashen as it is basically Dark Souls with an open-world environment. On the other hand, if you hate this trend of every game borrowing the combat mechanics of the Souls games, you should avoid it like the plague.

Enjoy!
