Star Wars Battlefront 2 2005

First patch for STAR WARS Battlefront Classic Collection released to address online bugs and issues

Aspyr Media has released the first patch for STAR WARS Battlefront Classic Collection. This patch aims to address some of the online multiplayer issues that plagued the game at launch. Moreover, it brings a number of fixes. So, let’s take a look at it.

A lot of players were frustrated with the game’s launch as it had major online issues. At launch, there weren’t a lot of dedicated servers. The game was in such a mess that it immediately received a lot of Overwhelmingly Negative reviews on Steam. Thankfully, Aspyr has resolved this. Right now, you can game on a lot of dedicated servers in both Battlefront 1 and 2.

Title Update 1 fixes a crash related to client message sends in BF2. It also resolves the launch prompt to be present after timing out or selecting cancel while joining a server. Additionally, it addresses the soft locks upon finishing the game at the Victory screen in BF1.

This first patch also comes with a number of visual fixes. For instance, it fixes textures on various maps, as well as units sliding after respawn on XL maps. It also fixes the jetpack gauge to correctly align, the ammo counter reticle to fit inside the aiming reticle, and an issue in multiplayer mode where AI units would slide when not in direct sight of a human player. It’s also worth noting that the colorblind mode selection screen no longer overlaps with the text at the bottom of the screen.

Like always, Steam will download this update the next time you launch its client. Below you can also find its complete changelog.
