Take On Helicopters Patch 1.04 – Release Candidate Available Now, comes with FXAA and SMAA support

Bohemia has released the RC of their upcoming Patch 1.04 for Take On Helicopters. This patch comes with FXAA and SMAA support, a Massive flight model upgrade, Time Trial functionality improvements and a Bonus Light helicopter Cougar livery. In addition, this patch is DRM-free for users of legitimate installations. As with most beta/RC patches, it is recommended to back up your full installation folder and profile folder first. So back it up guys because you will not be able to rollback to previous version, and upgrading to the final 1.04 patch may not be possible. You can view the entire changelog after the jump. Carrier Command: Gaea Mission – Physics Tech Demonstration

Bohemia Interactive has released a new video that showcases the physics system that is being used in their upcoming remake of Carrier Command, Carrier Command: Gaea Mission. In addition, the company revealed a new screenshot for it that can be viewed below. Carrier Command: Gaea Mission looks quite promising and will feature large 32 island archipelago occupied by an enemy, new dynamic weather and daytime simulation system. Enjoy! Overgrowth Alpha 171 Changes

Wolfire Games has released a new video in which David Rosen showcases the changes that were made to the latest alpha version of Overgrowth. This week, David added some animation cues, as well as scriptable HUD images and a versus mode HUD with scripted sound and animation. Moreover, David improved the versus camera tilt and the support for more than one controller. Those interested in trying the alpha can pre-order the game and gain access to it. Enjoy! Weekly Top 10 PC Charts; UK PC Retail and Steam Digital Charts [February 26th – March 3rd]

Another week, another weekly UK and Steam PC Charts. Contrary to the previous UK Retail PC Charts, this week we haven’t noticed any major changes. In fact, the top 10 PC retail games are the same with last week’s, although some games lost a couple of places while others have managed to gain a few. We should also note that Alan Wake PC was released on March 2nd and has managed to hit the eleventh place of the UK Retail PC Charts. Expect to see it next week in a higher place. Depth – GDC 2012 Trailer of this ‘humans vs sharks’ FPS game, powered by Unreal Engine 3

Depth is a really interesting, competitive multiplayer game that puts sharks against humans. There is full body dismemberment, a heart pounding Stealth mechanics, as well as a unique feature called Shark vision. Players we choose to be those big man-eaters will experience the sights , sounds and smells of the shark’s world. In other words, they will be able to track prey by the disturbances they make in the water, or the sound of their heartbeat. Give it a go everyone, as it looks pretty good! Wing Commander Saga – Coming on March 22nd

Great news for all Wing Commander fans, as the new upcoming indie game that is based on it – and is powered by the Freespace 2 Engine – has a release date. The team behind Wing Commander Saga has announced that their space combat game is coming on March 22nd and in order to celebrate it, they released a new trailer for it. The trailer gives a preview of many of Saga’s features, including a few that they have kept secret. Wing Commander Saga will feature 70 cut scenes for a total of about 90  minutes of  pre-rendered footage, 55 missions, Achievements, 90 models created for Saga, as well as over nine hours of voice dialogue. Weekly GTA IV Gallery [February 26th – March 3rd]

You know what? We decided this time to put some screenshots of GTA IV modded to the test. Modder ‘Lycan_182’ released some mind-blowing car screenshots, so we went ahead and asked some people whether or not they could guess the game. Naturally, most of them thought that they were from the new Forza game, while others thought that it was from NFS: Hot Pursuit. Well, we can now reveal that they were from GTA IV. Shocking, we know. However this proves that GTA IV modded looks great even for today’s standards. We’ve also included some screenshots from modders Jaizeta, schakusa, legacyy, panggap, Simple999, DarK64, Dpeasant3 and Slixent. Enjoy! New Project CARS Build comes with better lighting and a day-night cycle

As promised, Slightly Mad Studios released a new build for Project CARS. This new build comes with a better lighting system, as well as a day-night cycle. There obviously some issues with it but the company promises to fix all of them and tweak the game’s weather. In the coming weeks, Slightly Mad Studios will add in Rain particles, splashes, windscreens effects (need wipers), add in Code to make tracks “wet” and reflective, introduce drying on Racing lines, and bring localised weather to the game’s stages.
