Now this is a pleasant surprise. We all loved the first parts of the Resident Evil franchise. You know; fixed camera viewpoints in which players control the main characters in order to solve puzzles. So, meet everyone Thanatophobia; a PC game that is based on Resident Evil’s classic gameplay mechanics that looks more interesting than Resident Evil 5 & 6 combined. In fact, this is what most RE have been waiting for these past years and even though it does not evolve zombies (well, at least we don’t get that hint from its debut trailer), it’s more of a RE game than all of the latest parts of its series are. Precursor Games has released a behind the scenes video for Shadow Of The Eternals, the spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness. In this video, the dev team talks about the CryEngine 3 and its features. In addition, we can clearly see that Precursor Games has locked the framerate of the game to 30s (though there are a lot of drops to 20s) and is using the DX11 API of CryEngine 3. Unfortunately, the team has not revealed the specs of the machine powering the demo. Still, it’s pretty cool so go ahead and take a look. Shadow Of The Eternals’ Kickstarter campaign aims to raise $1.2 million in the next 24 days; a goal that – right now – seems unreachable. Enjoy! It’s been almost a year since our last look on the Euclideon ‘Unlimited Detail’ engine. Unfortunately, the team has not come up with a game yet, however it has released a new tech video for this particular engine. As the team claims, it has spent the last year building technology that overcomes all the loading and memory problems that happen when you use terabytes in places where people would normally use megabytes, and this video is the end result of those efforts. Ubisoft has recently released new screenshots for both Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag & Watch Dogs. Enjoy the shots after the jump! Continue reading New Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag & Watch Dogs Screenshots→
