Well, we all saw that coming. In an attempt to promote its latest OS, Microsoft has officially revealed the new version of its DX API. And as you may have guessed, it is coming exclusively on Windows 8.1 and Xbox One. DirectX 11.2 was presented at its Build Conference, and you can find the keynotes video below. Perhaps the best feature of DX11.2, Tiled Resources, is demoed at around the first one hour mark. With Tiled Resources, Direct3D 11.2 introduces support for hardware virtual resources, allowing the creation of massive textures using minimal memory, and permitting improved bandwidth efficiency. Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Splinter Cell: Blacklist in which the French company explains the basic features of the game’s MP mode, Spies vs. Mercs. Spies play in third person perspective, they are fast and agile, use the environment as their weapon and hide in the shadows to surprise their enemies. Mercs, on the other hand, play in first person, can use a flashlight to detect spies, and can rely on their firepower to overcome various circumstances. A new gameplay trailler of The Bureau: XCOM Declassified popped up, showcasing some of the strategic gameplay mechanics that will be supported. Players will be able to slow-down time and issue orders to their teammates, and the whole game actually feels like an XCOM title.
