GFA Games has announced that PIONER, its post-apocalyptic MMO shooter, will get a playable multiplayer demo during Steam Next Fest. In other words, the demo will be available between June 9th and June 16th. To celebrate this announcement, the team shared a new gameplay trailer that you can find below.
The demo will let players try out a big part of the game. It includes the full prologue, which is the beginning of the story. Players can also explore the main hub area, called Wanderer Pass, where they can meet others and prepare for missions.
The demo also offers five special quests that players can complete. On top of that, it has multiplayer features. You can team up with other players and take part in a co-op raid, where working together is important to win.
The devs said that this demo is a very important step toward the full release of PIONER, which is planned for sometime in 2025. They hope it will give players a good look at what the final game will be like.
In PIONER, your main goal is to survive and explore a dangerous and mysterious world. This world is filled with both PvE and PvP challenges. The game’s devs have said they want to create exciting content, like special in-game events, unique and interesting factions, and quests that are fun and meaningful. These features are meant to keep players coming back for more.
Since PIONER is an MMO, it will focus heavily on player choice, social interaction, and community-driven storytelling. This means the actions you take in the game can shape your own story and even affect the world around you. Or at least that’s what the devs claim.
As said, the game will offer both PvE and PvP. If you like fighting computer-controlled enemies and exploring the world, you can take on PvE missions. These include story quests that tell you more about the game’s world and its secrets. On the other hand, if you enjoy testing your skills against real players, PvP options will also be available. You can fight other players for rewards, control of areas, or simply for the challenge.
Players can also choose to work with different factions, which are groups within the game that each have their own goals, beliefs, and rewards. By completing missions for a faction, you can earn their trust (or “loyalty”), unlock special items, and learn more about that group’s story. The more loyal you are to a faction, the more cool stuff you’ll get access to.
And that’s not all. PIONER will also have an extraction mode, called Shadowlands. This mode will be very different from the main story and regular missions. It will be a high-stakes survival and treasure hunting mode, where players will need to be extra careful and smart to make it out alive with their loot.
The devs have made it clear that Shadowlands is an extra mode, not the main way to play the game. So, you can enjoy the regular game with its story, factions, and missions, and choose to play Shadowlands when you want a more intense challenge.
These past few days, PC gamers have been eating well. Last week, we got a demo for Stellar Blade, and yesterday, we got a demo for Hell is Us. And now, we’ll get a demo for yet another highly anticipated PC game.
