The Witcher 4 feature-3

First gameplay & cinematic in-engine trailers for The Witcher 4

CD Project RED has released a new cinematic in-engine trailer for The Witcher 4, showcasing its glorious graphics. Not only that, but the team shared the first gameplay trailer for it. Yep, you read that right. This is your first proper look at The Witcher 4. So, don’t skip on these trailers.

The gameplay footage shown in the video was captured on a PS5 with Ray Tracing, running at 60FPS. The Witcher 4 will be powered by Unreal Engine 5, and it’s easily one of its best showcases.

I’ll be honest here. This is the best PS5 game I’ve seen. The fact that it also runs with 60FPS on a PS5 is an incredible achievement. What’s also crazy is that there isn’t a lot of aliasing. I don’t know how CDPR has managed to achieve visuals THIS good on PS5.

From what I could see in the gameplay trailer, there aren’t any major stutters. Okay okay, there are a couple during the flythrough segment. I also spotted one in the town. Still, the game appears really smooth for the most part. This should also please a lot of players, as the PC version won’t have any traversal stutters. We shouldn’t also expect any shader compilation stutters.

The Witcher 4 will support Nanite for foliage. It will also support Lumen. The latest version of Unreal Engine 5 can run Ray Tracing and Lumen more efficiently. This enabled CDPR to run the game with 60FPS on consoles. And, just look at the trailers. It looks amazing.

CD Projekt RED claimed that the game won’t come out in 2026. Instead, we’re looking at a 2027 release (at best). So, don’t expect to be playing it anytime soon.

Before closing, I should note that CDPR has listed this gameplay footage as a technical demo. So, the end product may look worse on PS5. I’m just saying this because what I saw looks too good for a PS5 game. And, perhaps that was the reason why the team has labeled it as a tech demo. Even though this looks like proper gameplay footage.

Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
