Riot Games Acquires Radiant Entertainment, Cancels Rising Thunder

Remember Rising Thunder? You know, that fighting game, created by ex-Capcom’s Seth Killian, that relied on one-button moves instead of complex combos? Well, say goodbye to it as this free-to-play game has been cancelled.

Radiant Entertainment has just announced that it has been acquired by Riot Games, and that Rising Thunder has been cancelled. The team responsible for this fighting game will start work on an unannounced game.

“As for Rising Thunder, the team will start work on a new game that we’re incredibly excited about. We wish we could say more now, but rest assured you’ll hear more when the time is right. For now, we will be permanently closing Rising Thunder on March 18th. Thanks to everyone who participated in the Alpha! “

Rising Thunder was a PC-only fighting game that is going to be free-to-play, is being created by Seth Killian (ex-Capcom combat advisor and game designer), and will be powered by Unreal Engine 4 and GGPO3.
