WEMADE MAX and MADNGINE have announced a new single-player, open-world action RPG, Project TAL. To celebrate this announcement, the teams shared a gameplay trailer that you can find below.
Sohn Myun-seok, CEO of WEMADE MAX, said:
“Project TAL combines an emotionally resonant story about healing a wounded world with the exhilarating combat of a classic action RPG. With MADNGINE’s technical expertise and artistic vision, we’re creating a AAA open-world title built to compete on a global stage.”
Project TAL aims to deliver deep immersion, strategic combat, and a rich narrative shaped by your journey. Throughout your adventure, you’ll fight alongside distinctive in-game ally characters — each with unique abilities, personalities, and combat styles.
Players will wield acrobatic maneuvers to battle massive monsters. They’ll also target weak points, and they will be able to execute counterattacks in fast-paced, skill-based encounters.
It’s also worth noting that the game will include climbing mechanics. As such, you will be able to scale colossal monsters. Every monster will have a weakness point that players can exploit. Moreover, the devs claim that the game will have intelligent NPCs capable of responding dynamically to changing battlefield conditions.
From what I’ve seen, Project TAL feels like a mix of Dragon’s Dogma 2, Sekiro, Black Myth: Wukong, and Where Winds Meet. The combat looks silky smooth and organic. It has a lot of potential.
Korean and Chinese devs have been cooking lately. Where Winds Meet will come out next month, and I can’t wait to get my hands on Crimson Desert. Then we have Code: To Jin Yong, Blood Message, and Tides of Annihilation. But wait. There are more. Beast of Reincarnation, Phantom Blade Zero, MUDANG: Two Hearts, and Black State are games you should keep an eye on. And, another game that was cool when it was first showcased in 2022 was Project GRAY.
WEMADE MAX plans to release Project TAL sometime in 2027.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!
