Piranha Games has released a new update for MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries that adds a Mod Editor to the game. According to the team, this initial release of the Mod Editor will let you dig in and get started on planning and creating your MW5 mods.
The team has also written up a basic guide for the v1 Mod Editor, which you can download from here. The guide gives advice and instructions on modding maps, weapons, loadouts, music and sounds and more.
As Piranha Games noted, support for packaging your mods and integrating them into the game will be coming in a future update.
Last but not least, it’s worth noting that Epic Games Store does not support mods yet. Epic Games plans to add support for mods later this year.
