NVIDIA has released the GeForce Game Ready 576.40 WHQL driver for its graphics cards. According to the green team, this is the driver you’ll have to use for playing Doom: The Dark Ages. So, let’s take a closer look at it.
The NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready 576.40 WHQL driver is optimized for Doom: The Dark Ages. Moreover, it offers the best performance in the latest games using the DLSS 4 tech, like Doom: The Dark Ages and New World: Aeternum.
This new driver improves overall stability in Monster Hunter Wilds. It also fixes some shadow flicker issues that could occur in Dead Space Remake on the RTX-50 series GPUs.
And that’s not all. NVIDIA claims that this driver fixes some black screen issues that could happen with the ASUS PG32UQXR, Asus ROG PG248QP and Asus ROG PG32UCDM monitors. It also fixes a bug that could cause colors to be saturated in games when in game-resolution is below the native resolution of the monitor. Plus, it fixes an issue that could cause slight stutter on certain LG TVs at lower refresh rates with G-SYNC.
The NVIDIA GeForce Game Ready 576.40 WHQL driver also adds support for 7 G-SYNC Compatible displays. These are the Acer X32 V5, AOC 25G42E, AOC 24G42HE, AOC 25G4SRE, AOC Q27G40SE, I-O DATA GDQ271JAQ and Dell AW2725D.
Although this driver is meant to be used for Doom: The Dark Ages, it still suffers from issues with it. For instance, if you are playing on an RTX 50 series GPU and enable G-Sync or V-Sync plus Multi Frame Generation through the NVIDIA App, you can crash the game. Also, if you Alt+Tab while launching the game, it may launch in the background and not be accessible.
