Kingdom Hearts 3 PC could happen, Square Enix trying to get as many games to as many different platforms

In around two weeks, Square Enix will release the PC version of Final Fantasy XV. According to the team, a PC version of Final Fantasy XV was considered right from the start, however, there is another Square Enix triple-A game that is currently under development. That game is Kingdom Hearts 3 (Square Enix is also working on FF7Remake but this has already been confirmed was already hinted for the PC). And while Kingdom Hearts 3 has only been announced for PS4 and Xbox One, we may actually see it on the PC after its console release.

As Square Enix’s technical director and lead programmer, Takeshi Aramaki, told RPS, the publisher is currently aiming to bring as many titles to as many different platforms as possible.

“I think the rule of the company, the strategy, has very much moved in the direction of trying to get as many of our games out on as many different platforms as possible to reach as many different players as possible, so I think you’ll definitely be seeing a lot more platforms and a lot more broader release of games in the future.”

What ultimately this means is that Square Enix may consider bringing Kingdom Hearts 3 to our platform too. After all, Kingdom Hearts 3 has been in development for a long time and is perhaps the only SE game that has not been announced for the PC. Not only that, but we are certain that the publisher will undoubtedly want to release the game on as many platforms as possible (in order to cover the costs of its huge development cycle). Also, the game is using Unreal Engine 4 so a PC version should, theoretically, be a simpler task than Final Fantasy XV PC.

Of course, this isn’t the first time we’re hearing about Kingdom Hearts 3 coming to the PC. Back in July 2017, Kingdom Hearts 3 director Tetsuya Nomura claimed that Square Enix will consider bringing it to other platforms.

So yeah, while this isn’t a solid confirmation of a PC version for Kingdom Hearts 3, it’s a bit obvious that the publisher will consider it. And if Final Fantasy XV PC is a commercial success, we are almost certain that this new Kingdom Hearts game will, eventually, find its way to our platform!
