LEGO 2K Drive-2

2K Games has removed Denuvo from LEGO 2K Drive

Now here is a pleasant surprise. 2K Games has just released a new update for LEGO 2K Drive that removed the Denuvo anti-tamper tech from it.

LEGO 2K Drive came out on PC in May 2023. This means that it took 2K Games around seven months in order to remove it. From what I know, this is also one of the few games for which the publisher has removed Denuvo.

LEGO 2K Drive is a massive open-world LEGO driving adventure. In this game, players can race anywhere, play with anyone, build their dream rides, and defeat a cast of wild racing rivals for the coveted Sky Trophy.

It’s worth noting that while its all-time reviews are Mixed, its recent reviews are Mostly Positive. I personally haven’t played the game so I can’t really comment on its quality. Still, it’s at least good knowing that it no longer has the Denuvo anti-tamper tech.

2K Games has joined other game publishers in removing Denuvo from some of their older titles. For example, Square Enix took Denuvo out of games like The Diofield ChronicleVALKYRIE ELYSIUM, and TRIANGLE STRATEGY. Plus, both Octopath Traveler and its sequel no longer have it. Oh, and let’s not forget Forspoken and LIVE A LIVE. All of these games no longer have Denuvo.

Capcom also took out Denuvo from Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin and Resident Evil Village. Bethesda did the same for Wolfenstein Youngblood and Doom Eternal. Warner Bros has also removed it from Mortal Kombat 11. Then we have Bandai Namco who has removed it from Tekken 7 and NARUTO TO BORUTO: SHINOBI STRIKER.

Let’s hope that even more publishers will join the aforementioned ones. I get why most of them use Denuvo in their games. For their older titles, though, it makes no sense to use it. You hear that Ubisoft?

Stay tuned for more!
