Good news for all horror fans as the alpha testing phase of Among The Sleep has begun, and a number of backers have already got their hands on it. One of them is YouTube’s ‘Vaecon’ who has posted a gameplay video from it. Among The Sleep is heavily based on atmosphere and exploration, and using the two year old child’s perspective. The team aims to include some puzzle and adventure elements as well, but our main focus lies on exploration, atmosphere and horror. Our reader Cristian Fabian Munoz Isla has informed us about the progress of his Mortal Kombat II Snes mod for Doom via skulltag/zandronum. According to the modder, this mod has been completed by 50% and in order to showcase the progress that has been made to it, Doomero has released a video that can be viewed below. This mod has potential, however there are still issues that need Doomero’s attention. As huge MK fans, we find it really interesting so make sure to give it a go. Ubisoft has released a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag which tells the story behind pirates. Black Flag has been in development for nearly two years, and is being spearheaded by the Assassin’s Creed teams in Ubisoft Montreal with support from Ubisoft studios in Annecy, Bucharest, Kiev, Quebec, Singapore and Sofia. 2K Games has released the first screenshots and a new gameplay trailer for its upcoming third-person squad-base XCOM title, The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. Set in 1962 at the height of the Cold War, The Bureau tells the origin story of the clandestine XCOM organisation’s first encounter with a mysterious and devastating enemy. 4A Games and Nvidia have unveiled – via the game’s official FB page – a new image for Metro: Last Light, with all its bells and whistles enabled. And since a single shot would not be enough for a new post, we’ve included below a gameplay walkthrough that lasts 60 minutes (kudos to YouTube’s member ‘ReaperGameplayHD’ for capturing it). Our reader ‘Jonathan Gustafsson’ has informed us about yet another mod for GTA IV. As the title suggests, the Star Wars universe comes to GTA IV. This mod introduces a Star Wars speeder bike with working lasers, and looks f’ing epic. There are some issues with the bike movement and the collisions at this point. Remember Nvidia’s and Activision’s facial tech demos? They were amazing, weren’t they? Well get ready for a new facial animation capture technology that looks even better. Motion Capture Systems Developers have released a tech demo, showcasing their real-time markerless Facial Motion Capture System in Action. It looks miles better than what Nvidia and Activision showcased a few months ago. Of course we don’t know whether this new tech will be used in games or not, however the same can be said about Nvidia’s and Activision’s demos.
