Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal today released the second trailer in a series of stylized videos that focus on the rich narrative and characters of THIEF’s corrupt and broken city. As the press release reads, each trailer in the series tells a story from the perspective of a different character describing life in the broken, repressed City that is being ravaged by the ruthless Baron Northcrest and the mysterious sickness known as ‘The Gloom’. Techland and Warner Bros released today a new gameplay video from Dying Light, showcasing the darker side of the game’s day-and-night-cycle mechanic. The video gives a glimpse into different strategies that players will adopt depending on the time of day in order to survive. YouTube’s ‘InfectiousDesigner’ has posted a short film that is based on Ubisoft’s upcoming open-world title, Watch Dogs. This fan film is directed by Brian Curtin and Aiden Pearce is being brought to life thanks to Matthew Sumner. It’s a really interesting film and features most of what you’d expect to find from a Watch Dogs film. Ubisoft has released the launch trailer for the upcoming story-driven DLC of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, called Freedom Cry. In this DLC, players take the role of Adewale, ex-slave turned Assassin, 15 years after the events of Black Flag in his brutal fight against slavery. In this new LEGO title, players will follow Bilbo Baggins as he is recruited by Gandalf to aid Thorin Oakenshield and his Company of Dwarves. Call us impressed. YouTube’s ‘Natalia Galantseva’ has shared a real-time video from a new map she’s been working on with CRYENGINE that will definitely give you some Doom 4 (and Aliens) vibes. This is really impressive and can be easily described as a next-gen scene. The funny thing here is that Doom 4 may not look this sexy when – and if – it gets out.
