NeoGAF’s member ‘Qassim‘ has made a comparison between the Definitive and the Standard editions of Sleeping Dogs. In case you’re wondering, the Definitive Edition is on the left whereas the Standard Edition is on the right (as always, make sure to open the images in new tabs). The Definitive Edition of Sleeping Dogs comes with a 20fps performance hit and according to Square Enix, it packs improved, higher resolution textures, improved lighting, and higher number of particle effects, higher detailed character models, volumetric fog (i.e. fog/smog/mist/steam is now present in the game world), increased pedestrians and traffic density, rebuilt sound engine to heighten realism and more destructible objects in hand-to-hand fighting sequences. Alien: Isolation – Low Versus Ultra Screenshots Comparison (4K)

SEGA was kind enough to provide us with a review code for Alien: Isolation, and below you can find a screenshot comparison between the game’s Low and Ultra settings. In order to provide a ‘apple-to-apple’ comparison, we kept the same AA, AF and resolution. As we can clearly see, there is a graphical difference between these settings, though it’s not as big as we’d hoped. We also noticed awkward SLI scaling behaviour with Ultra settings while we were running at 3840×2160 (in case you’re wondering then no; we were not VRAM limited). Enjoy the comparison and stay tuned for our Performance Analysis. We strongly suggest opening the images in a new tab in order to see the differences. As always, Ultra is on the left whereas Low is on the right! Continue reading Alien: Isolation – Low Versus Ultra Screenshots Comparison (4K)

Skyrim Modded Still Gives Current-Gen Open World Games A Run For Their Money

It’s been almost a year since the release of current-gen consoles and surprisingly enough, the PC modded version of Skyrim still gives current-gen open world games a run for their money. To put it simply; modders have been able to overhaul Bethesda’s RPG to the point that it can rival – and even surpass – games releasing one generation afterwards. We certainly hope that ‘truly’ current-gen open world games will look better than this (or those that have been released thus far), so here is hoping that developers will learn something from the works of these guys. Enjoy! Continue reading Skyrim Modded Still Gives Current-Gen Open World Games A Run For Their Money
