Playstation Showcase 2023

PC was the big winner of the PlayStation Showcase 2023

Yesterday, Sony held a PlayStation Showcase in which it presented a number of games. And, surprisingly enough, the big winner of that show was actually the PC.

Pretty much all of the games that Sony showcased were coming on PC. In fact, most of them will be available on launch day on the PC. The only outlier here is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 which will release first on PS5. However, after the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC, it’s certain that Sony will bring it to the PC at a later date.

So, here are all the games that Sony showcased at its event. I’ve also included the platforms for which these games will come out at launch.

  • Fairgame$ – PC and PS5
  • Helldivers 2 – PC and PS5
  • Immortals of Aveum – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Ghostrunner 2 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Phantom Blade Zero – PC and PS5
  • Sword of the Sea – PC and PS5
  • The Talos Principle 2 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Neva – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Cat Quest (already released on PC)
  • Foamstars – PS5 and PS4
  • Revenant Hill – PC, PS5 and PS4
  • The Plucky Squire – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Teardown (already released on PC)
  • Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Remake – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Towers of Aghasba – PC and PS5
  • Assassin’s Creed Mirage – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Final Fantasy XVI – PS5 timed-exclusive, coming to PC at a later date
  • Alan Wake 2 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Granblue Fantasy Relink – PC, PS5 and PS4
  • Street Fighter 6 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • ULTROS – PC, PS5 and PS4
  • Tower of Fantasy (already released on PC)
  • Dragon’s Dogma 2 – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Five Nights at Freddy‘s Help Wanted 2 – PC, PS5
  • PS2VR games
  • MARATHON – PC, PS5 and Xbox Series
  • Concord – PC, PS5
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – PS5 (will most likely come out on PC in the future)

From what we can see, the only true Playstation exclusive is Foamstars. Foamstars is a multiplayer Splatoon-clone from Square Enix that does not look that interesting. I mean, we already have A LOT of multiplayer games on PC. Okay okay, there were also one or two PSVR2 games. However, I don’t really believe that all PS5 owners have a PSVR2 so… yeah… I’m not that excited about PSVR2.

All in all, this was a great show for PC. It was also a missed opportunity for Sony as it didn’t showcase any upcoming games from its first-party studios. Seriously, where was Naughty Dog, Bluepoint, Santa Monica, Bluepoint Games, or Bend Studio? So, for a PlayStation Showcase, this was kind of weak. On the other hand, for us PC gamers, it was a pretty good event. After all, we got to see a lot of games that will come out on our platform. And yes, these games will look and play better on PC.

Let’s see now what Microsoft has to offer. The big “M” will hold a Showcase event on June 11th. And before getting excited, you should temper your expectations. Chances are we won’t see Avowed, Fable, or The Elder Scrolls VI. So yeah, be sure to keep your excitement in check.

Stay tuned for more!
