Deus Ex: Mankind Divided – PC versus PS4 Pro 4K Comparison Screenshot

Square Enix has released a 4K screenshot from the PS4 Pro version of Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, and below you can find a comparison between the PC version (on Ultra settings and in 4K) and the PS4 Pro version.

As we can clearly see, the lighting seems worse in the PS4 Pro version. It appears that Volumetric Lighting has been toned down, and the entire scene lacks the atmosphere found in the PC version.

Similarly to the Rise of the Tomb Raider comparison, it’s also obvious here that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is not running in native 4K resolution on the PS4 Pro. We can clearly notice blurrier visuals compared to the PC version.

Enjoy the comparison below!

  1. Since 2k/30fps games on PS4 Pro is considered 4k by Sony. Nvidia and AMD should add checkerboard rendering option in the drivers so that the PC Master Race can play in 8k reconstructed from 4k and claim we have can run games in 8k/60fps.

    1. Or use dynamic scaling like Halo 5 and Forza Apex on PC. First review says that Halo 5 is even better optimized than Forza 6 Apex. Full 60fps in 4K on single GTX 980TI + Core i7 i7-4770K without single drop in resolution or fps.

      Review:
“We’re still not sure exactly how this magical DirectX 12 juju is responsible for such smooth performance on Microsoft-published PC games, but holy crap, does Halo 5 Forge run beautifully and smoothly on my high-end 4K rig. The same locked 60 frames-per-second refresh I saw from the free Forza Motorsport 6 Apex release returns to this new Halo experience, even at the staggering resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. My testing rig—with an i7-4770K processor and a GTX 980Ti video card—is no slouch, but on it, most PC games struggle to lock at 60 FPS on mid-high settings when resolution is set to 1440p, let alone 2160p.

Yet with every Halo 5 Forge setting maxed out, including texture resolution, texture filtering, shadows, foliage, and ambient occlusion, I can’t get the framerate to stutter, save a few rare stutters as the camera hovers around the map in a pre-battle preview.

To be clear, Halo 5 Forge does not allow players to disable dynamic resolution changes. When I tell Halo 5 Forge to render at full UHD/4K resolution, it tells me, in tiny text, that the resolution could change at any moment for the sake of performance. Once I read that note, I shoved my eyes pretty much directly onto my 31.5″ screen, keeping an eye on edge-of-screen elements that might noticeably blur, shimmer, or stair-step to reveal a drop from full 4K rendering. Throughout all of my frantic combat, I never noticed a single dip. That’s obviously anecdotal and imprecise, but if Halo 5 Forge is downsampling on the fly to keep my 60 FPS refresh stable, I’m not noticing it”

Halo 5 is probably best optimized PC game right now.

      1. Lol, it’s always you with your Halo 5, Forza Apex & Gears of Sh!t. LOL!.
Maaaaaaan, you are pathetic as fock. *sigh*

    2. They frist must release 8k monitors then 8k capable gpus. That what they must do but it is not going to happen any time soon. Also there are not 2k(2560×1440) tv’s because of that consoles can not play at either 2k or 4k

        1. 8k isn’t worth it. Not unless you want to glue your monitor/television directly to your forehead so your eyes can tell the difference between 8k and 4k.

      1. ps4 pro costs $399. the pc screenshot you use will cost around $1500….ik this is a pc circlejerk but put the price tags next to the screen shots and you will see why this is a retarded comparisson

        1. But I can take that PS4 Pro quality screenshot on a $599 PC with a Radeon RX 470. Its just Medium quality preset running at 2k/30fps upscaled to 4k.

    1. Holy sh*t is that leaked? I mean, wow, that’s some really honest information listed there;

      “Destructionas a core gameplay mechanic
      • Destruction must be consistent between
      platforms
      • First Rainbow Six shipping with the engine
      • Lots of legacy code from previous
      prototypes”

“•Ship at a higher resolution than 720p on all consoles
•Commit to 4K on PC at a decent framerate
•Provide a strong PC version on a console oriented production
      • Fitting on 1GB of RAM becomes a challenge with current gen”

    1. Its medium compared to the PC version. FPS is 30 and render resolution is around 2k native reconstructed to 4k and has some heavy graphical settings toned down or completely turned off.

PC version is completely maxed out and running in native 4k.

    2. The PS4 Pro shot is from the benchmark whereas the PC one is from the game at that location. This comparison is worth 0 because the conditions are not the same.

  2. who knows me, know that i’m a console hater n1, but this is actually not the same shot, the first one looks like pre rendered, it’s from the tech demo clip they showed months before the release of the game, not even on pc it looks like that, or i’m just wrong?

      1. Im not sure, looks a lot different, if you have the game would you care to take a screenshot on roughly the same position, with the same settings (i forgot about UHD :/)

        1. I do have it but I finished it and then promptly uninstalled it as I wasn’t exactly impressed with the game haha, I’m sure someone must have some 4k benchmark screenies floating about somewhere though.

      1. Alright but i don’t doubt that, i’m just saying comparisons should be made with the exact same settings and everything, and possibly the exact same location, not an ingame shot vs a benchmark shot, is it possible to have? Has someone got DE:MD and able to take a screenshot at UHD roughly at the exact position where the ps shot was taken?

  3. I feel sorry for all the dopes who buy this PS Pro thing thinking they’ll play games in 4K on it when the PS4 can barely play games in 1080 at acceptable frame rates. PS4 was touted as being able to play games at 120fps. What a joke.

  4. People who were hoping that all games would run at native 4k at 60 fps were just trying to ilude itself, they did talked about the checkerboard method on the presentation…
We all knew that with doubling the hardware specs can’t provide 4 times the power, for most people with 4k tvs the upscaling of 1440 is already very good, a notch above it becames almost imperceptable. Even the Digital Foundry said that some games were amazing and not native 4k, so, my only real disapointment is the lack of the UHDBD player…

  5. Well for under £350 I think that it is pretty impressive, of course it can’t match a proper 4k capable PC rig (which costs a hell of a lot more) but you have to hand it too them for the money it’s good.

          1. Sony did not partner with AMD for PS3 so the launch PS3 price was $200 more than PS4. I am not saying AMD is the only reason why Sony managed to offer such cheap consoles but they do seem to be the main reason.

          2. Also the PS3 on launch for games visuals was far more impressive then the impact PS4 has made on it’s launch

          3. Oh yeah thanks for that little nugget of wisdom, that’s really relevant to what I was saying geez.

  6. The shots aren’t even taken at exactly the same spot with exactly the same weapons looking at the same angle…

It’s like taking a pic of a bus and then taking a pic looking slightly to the left of the bus while also standing a foot away from it.

  7. its not a fair comparison the PS pro version is running at 1440p with the detail set to medium. Its going against a native 4K ultra PC version powered by two GTX 1080s that costs over $1400. I love PC gaming but we all know PS pro cant do native at high or even ultra.

  8. 4k at low settings or 1080p at High/Ultra? Damn, and I thought this was easy enough already haha (the $700 that a normal PS4 costs in my country doesn’t help).

  9. The ps4 pro is doing pretty well for a 399 device. That is the bottom line for most folks, really. The top end pc gamer is a rare duck….most pc gamers live in the bottom to mid range. Always have. I think what the ps4 pro is doing is pretty impressive at what most would consider reasonable prices.

  10. Here’s where I’m at. My PC will run this at the lowest settings at 1 frame per 3 seconds on DX11. If the PS4 manages 1fps then it’s already way better than my non-high end PC. Until I complete a rebuild of the PC it’s just not able to run this game even though it can run other games and Deus Ex HR alright.
