KOEI Tecmo Europe confirmed today the upcoming European release of Berserk, Omega Force’s most brutal Warriors title to date based on the iconic manga and anime series Berserk. Slated to release this Fall, KOEI TECMO’s interactive entertainment rendition of Berserk will closely follow the events of the most well-known story arcs from the iconic manga’s narrative, focusing on the daring and heroic life of Guts as he cuts his way through a sinister realm of magical and demonic fiends.
As the press release reads, Berserk will fuse the signature ‘one versus thousands’ style action of the long-running Warriors franchise with the grim and gruesome atmosphere of the world of Berserk.
As players harness the power of Guts’ Great Sword and utilise the swift and agile swordplay of Griffith to slash and smash through hordes of enemies, players familiar with the Warriors series will be able to feel the difference in gameplay through the way each character handles combat.
The game will also incorporate various battle mechanics to better bring the world of Berserk to life, such as Magic and Transformations.

Knowing KT and what happened with PW3, it’s quite likely we end up with the Vita version. Fans of One Piece gladly forgave and threw away all the standards they have for gaming to buy an expensive Japanese PS3 port job, some people above in the comments are already glad and willing to throw their money at KT no matter the quality and honestly I find that depressing.
Probably because you’re not familiar with Berserk. The story itself is the selling point of this game. If you find that depressing, well I don’t think Berserk is for you. Like I mentioned in another comment as part of that “some people” group, as long as the story and gameplay are intact, I absolutely do not care what the graphical “standard” is on PC. And neither do most folks who consider themselves fans of Miura’s masterpiece. Of course, that’s not to say I’d put down 60 bucks for this. But a bit less, absolutely.
I don’t think that’s a sound objective argument to make for everyone having to ignore visuals for one story of one franchise.
I actually like the manga and the original series. What I want is a nice visually faithful representation, not something still stuck in the PS2 era, don’t tell me to what to like and not like or leave just because your standards are completely different from mine.

Having said that, I feel this is a faithful representation on the visual front. Berserk itself isn’t some sort of pinnacle of CG animation or whatever. It has its own aesthetic and I’d have it no other way. Assuming you’re familiar with the manga, I’d figure you’d know this.
As examples, look at the Borderlands series… look at Pillars of Eternity… hell, look at TF2… are those not PC games? Where were your “standards” back then?
If you don’t care about those who have standards different from your own, it’s fine. But at least make a “sound objective argument” (in your own words) before you put their views down, especially when your argument is based on something as flimsy as polygon count.
No you are telling me what to like by telling me that if I don’t like Beserk the way you like it then it’s simply “not for me” despite the fact that I’ve read the manga and watched the original series, yet having any sort of expectations for a good looking Beserk game is all kinds of wrong and must be corrected in terms of “shoo shoo”.

Koei’s last port wasn’t bad though so there is hope. at this point they don’t deserve trusting though but one can just wait till after release and only purchase if it is solid.
even at best though it won’t look great visually considering it is a KT game, but based on their standards this is more than i expected. the real issue lies with whether they can do the story justice or not.
it’s still strange to see so many gigantic IPs being ignored by industry giants. they are just gold mines waiting to be mined. Capcom’s Dragon Dogma team would be great for a Berserk game imo with From Software’s visual designers.
Koe said that they gonna make it as dark as possible , as Berserk universe is, the trailer that they made it was tooked from the cutscene of the main game so yeah , they probably going full rape mode

I personally don’t give a damn about graphics, it’s a Berserk game, the important thing is that they don’t screw up the story and even if is a 2d pixel that hurls a sword I’ll be happy enough to play it.
Exactly what I feel. This is Berserk, on PC no less. I don’t give two sh*ts what the textures look like. As long as it has the solid gameplay and story and is reasonably priced, I’ll be getting this as soon as possible.
