Patrice Desilets’ 1666: Amsterdam – First Gameplay Footage Surfaces (Really Old Build)

A couple of days ago, Ubisoft agreed to hand over the rights of 1666: Amsterdam to former Assassin’s Creed creative director Patrice Desilets. And today, YouTube’s member ‘Brandon Sheffield’ has shared a video, showing what this game looked like back in 2012. Back then, the game was still meant to be published by THQ (who closed in January 2013). Naturally, this build will never see the light of day. Still, it will give you an idea of what this game was all about. Enjoy!

  1. Great that the guy situation got sorted out, but Ubisoft probably nicked a lot of ideas from this already.

    1. I don’t think you can call this “sorted out”, considering that Ubisoft bought the whole studio he helped to establish (THQ Montreal), cancelled the project, and kicked him out (quite literally), but yeah, still better than nothing.

        1. Unfortunately, this means nothing unless they also gave him all of the assets they made during the years of development. The IP itself doesn’t have much of a value (I doubt many people know about this unreleased game).
