As I reported a couple of days ago, NBA 2K27 leaked the DLL files for NVIDIA DLSS 5. Since then, modders have been able to force DLSS 5 in a lot of games. So, instead of flooding you with numerous articles, I’ve decided to collect and share the most impressive DLSS 5 results in one big article.
Let’s start with a game that has just been released, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced. This new AC game is one of the best-looking games right now on PC. And despite that, DLSS 5 can completely transform it.
During gameplay, we get a next-gen visual bump with DLSS 5. And no, I’m not exaggerating here. This feels like a next-gen version of a game that has just been released on PC. This is crazy.
Then we have Tekken 8. I’ve played Tekken 8 extensively over the past couple of years, and I can say that the DLSS 5 Mod brings a massive visual improvement to it. With DLSS 5, the game finally looks like, and even surpasses, its pre-release trailer.
Then we have Oblivion Remastered and Skyrim. Both of them greatly benefit from DLSS 5. In fact, Skyrim can now feel like a next-gen title. And the same can be said about Elden Ring. Elden Ring wasn’t a great-looking game. It had an amazing art style, but its visuals were weak. Well, not anymore. DLSS 5 manages to fix a lot of its visual issues with characters.
Or how about Tomb Raider? Seriously, look at its first comparison. Without DLSS 5, Lara looks so flat. With DLSS 5, everything looks much, much better. This is a huge visual improvement. You can’t possibly tell me that the DLSS 5 Off image looks better, no matter how you spin it.
Let’s also look at the game that leaked the DLL files, NBA 2K27. With DLSS 5, it looks as photorealistic as it can get. I always had an issue with the lighting system in the recent NBA 2K games. But now, we finally get a game that can look almost photorealistic. This is what I was expecting to see from a current-gen-only NBA 2K game.
Another game that greatly benefits from DLSS 5 appears to be Grand Theft Auto 5. Once again, the game looks better with DLSS 5. The same can be said about Fallout 4. Seriously, just look at it.
All in all, NVIDIA DLSS 5 is mighty impressive. This is exactly what I was expecting it to be the moment NVIDIA announced it. The only downside is performance. As we can see, in some cases the performance hit is huge. In Tomb Raider, we go from 140FPS to 50FPS. Ouch.
I always believed that DLSS 5 was meant to be announced (and released) with the NVIDIA RTX 60 series. But since those GPUs were delayed, NVIDIA may have decided to release DLSS 5 on its own. This is my hypothesis.
Anyway, I personally cannot wait for DLSS 5. I know console and AMD fans will be against it (until they get something similar). But I’ve seen too many examples in which DLSS 5 pushes the graphical boundaries of old PC games. I have not found a video, but Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is another game that looks absolutely incredible with DLSS 5. You can find some comparison screenshots here.
NVIDIA will officially release DLSS 5 by the end of 2026.
