As we’ve said, we had two rumours for you today. The first was about Mafia 3’s release date, while the second one is about the release date of Doom. According to Amazon France, id Software’s new FPS will be released on June 30th.
While this looks like a placeholder, Amazon France has leaked lots of games in the past, so this could very well be legit. After all, Amazon France leaked the release date for Rise of the Tomb Raider back in December.
As you may have guessed, Bethesda has not commented yet on this rumour.
For what is worth, Bethesda and GameInformer will reveal more details about Doom’s SP and MP modes (as well as SnapMap) in February, so stay tuned for more!

What does that even mean? A game that isn’t worth playing, is worth pirating? Or am I missing something?
Btw, no DX12 doesn’t mean anything. It hasn’t stopped me yet from enjoying a game 🙂
I am worried about the “DOOM feel”, though. The last developer walkthrough I saw didn’t give me much hope: it looked cool, but it didn’t remind me much of DOOM (1/2/3). We’ll see…
I think piracy should work like library. If you want book (game) you buy it, if you want “one night stand” you rent book (game).
Who said that it will not have DX 12 ? I never played multiplayer in Doom and never will. Doo is for the great single player experince. Piracy wil not save anything if it uses DENUVO DRM after the succes with JC3 and yesterday’s comments from 3DM that they are about to give up. DOOM is a day on buy for me as a big DOOM fan!!!
It’s an OpenGL-based Engine, it doesn’t have Direct3D support at all, ergo no DX12 support either.
On the other hand, id Tech 6 does have Vulkan support, at least on paper, so we’ll see.
What? 4 months from now? Why dont they release it right now?! NOW!!!!
