Watch Dogs feature 3

Rumour: Next Assassin’s Creed Game Coming In 2017, Watch_Dogs 2 Coming In 2016

Kotaku has leaked some interesting new information about the next Assassin’s Creed and Watch_Dogs games. According to Kotaku’s sources, Ubisoft will not release a Assassin’s Creed title in 2016. Instead, it is rumoured that the next Assassin’s Creed will be released in 2017. Not only that, but it is said that the sequel to Watch_Dogs will come out in 2016.

As Kotaku claimed:

“The next Assassin’s Creed, which we believe is set in ancient Egypt and code-named Empire, won’t launch until 2017, according to both a new online rumor and sources speaking to Kotaku. One person familiar with Ubisoft’s upcoming gaming plans told me this afternoon that the decision to delay Empire from fall 2016 was made after 2014’s disappointing Unity, and that this bump will allow the development team more room to improve and polish the game. “

In 4chan, someone claiming to be a Ubisoft developer claimed that the next AC game will be a complete revamp. Since this is 4chan where anyone can claim to be anyone, take the following with a lot of grain of salt.

“Egypt. There won’t be an AC in 2016. You may screencap this and refer to it when nothing is shown in E3 2016. You’ll have to wait until 2017 for it. The reason: It will be a complete revamp of the series. The game is going for a Witcher feel, with player progression, freeform combat system. Horse is back, and boats too. It’s made by the Black Flag team. You may leave any question you want answered.”

Kotaku claimed that Ubisoft may replace Assassin’s Creed with Watch_Dogs 2 in 2016. Watch_Dogs 2 is rumoured to be set San Francisco.

Stay tuned for more!

  1. Honestly though with the way watch dogs 1 ended i assumed it would be NY but san fran could be fun as well. Kinda excited for a sequal as the first had tons of potential and great ideas but was clearly rushed.

    1. the sad thing is devs actually think this is good and it slips into other games like shadow of mordor and dying light.

        1. I play with a mouse and keyboard like always lol but my brother was doing it on a controller and we both found it hard to jump.

  2. Do we really need another Watch Dogs game? I don’t think so, unless it is greatly improved from the first one.

    1. “Do we really need another assasin’s creed game i dont think so unless it is greatly improved from the first one”

“Do we really need another far cry game i dont think so unless it is greatly improved from the first one”

    2. And not only the gfx, even if they did look alright (nothing special, aside from the pretty water) The whole game is just so boring to play.. i rather climb towers on Farcry..

    3. Yeah we do in my opinion, the game play for watchdogs although lacking, was quite promising. I would love to see it get more polished and for them to finally give us a way to play it without killing anyone hopefully.

Not only that but the animations were terrific.

  3. “As Kotaku claimed:”

    Untrustworthy.

“In 4chan, someone claiming to be a Ubisoft developer claimed that the next AC game will be a complete revamp. Since this is 4chan where anyone can claim to be anyone, take the following with a lot of grain of salt.”

So kotaku got the infromation from 4chan, kinda reminds me when someone said they will publish anything without checking and sent them a email claiming to be a black woman who learned how to drive from gta v. They publish it and the prankster won a bet.

“It will be a complete revamp of the series. The game is going for a Witcher feel, with player progression, freeform combat system. Horse is back, and boats too. It’s made by the Black Flag team. You may leave any question you want answered.”

Considering how i still have not finished black flag because of how identical to the previous games is with a pirate skin slapped on top of it, i highly doubt it will be worth it.

  4. finally!!!.i guess thats why there was an article just released on another site saying there will be no assassins creed this year.i cant wait hopefully its in a different city.

  5. FINALLY! Ubisoft is switching back to a 2 year dev. cycle! Literally all of their assassin’s creed games were good when they were made with a 2 year cycle. AC2, Brotherhood, AC1 were all great compared to revelations, unity, 3, etc.

  6. if you think 2 years cycle for this series can help it’s quality you are mistaken. the last one didn’t do well so they decided to release the next one with delay.

“next AC game will be a complete revamp”
it’s another bulls**t claim. it will be a complete rehashed and thats a fact.

    1. Yeah,,, I highly doubt Ubisoft will finally start to make games with handcrafted quests like Witcher games instead of filler missions/grind fest. They should take a break for 4-5 years.

      1. well the chances are 0.02% ubisoft can’t make good open world titles period. well not only them but most of the devs out there, all of the open world games are like do this 100times till the game is finished, madmax, just cause, assassins, watchdogs, farcry, batman. all of them share the same boring design with different locations.

  7. I may finally return to AC, if the series sees overhaul and the
setting is Egypt. Please no more gimmicks like grappling hook and stuff.
Go back to the series roots.

BTW I think they are revamping the series because Syndicate’s opening was weakest in the series (thanks to Unity’s broken launch,,,, and not because gamers are becoming more intelligent).

One day, I hope we’ll see poor sales of COD, FIFA and other rehashes, because AAA gaming has become boring, full of rehashes and copy cats.

  8. I was one of those who actually enjoyed Watch Dogs a lot. It could be a lot better, but shooting mechanics, cover system, driving and yeah even with downgrades the graphics were great.
Story was really cool and well executed with great characters following a serious plot.

I’m all in for the second game and hope it does well what it did wrong. (more variety in secondary missions mostly and what was missing in the graphics department)
