MOTHER 1 and Earthbound fans, here is something for you. Fans have released a remake/re-imagining of the first MOTHER 1 game for PC, which originally came out on the NES. So, let’s dive in.
This fan remake offers a uniquely different experience from the original and should not be seen as a replacement for it. In other words, if you are playing MOTHER: Encore, you are not playing MOTHER 1.
Made entirely from the ground up using the Godot Engine, MOTHER: Encore aims to adapt the original game into a completely fresh and new experience for modern audiences.
Currently, the game contains 2 Acts, and is planning on releasing 8 Acts in total. Act 2 contains everything from Act 1 AND Act 2. Each Act will be a simple content update that adds new areas to the game so you can enjoy the entire game as a seamless experience once it’s finished.
MOTHER: Encore features a new battle system, new graphics, and a new story. It also comes with new mechanics, new overworld and dungeons, and a new soundtrack.
This is a must-have free game for all MOTHER/Earthbound fans. So, if you are one of them, you should not sleep on it. You can download it from this link.
Speaking of free fan games, I also suggest trying the following ones. Mega Man fans can play a lot of free Mega Man games on PC. The last we’ve shared is Mega Man DXtreme. For fighting fans, we have Hyper Dragon Ball Z. This is by far the best free DBZ Mugen game. Sonic fans can also find a lot of free Sonic games for PC. The last we’ve shared is Sonic Galactic. Oh, and let’s not forget the demo for the SNES-Style fan demake of Final Fantasy 16.
Have fun!

Still, the PC platform won him over consoles. That was mainly due to 3DFX and its iconic dedicated 3D accelerator graphics card, Voodoo 2.
