Now here is something that passed under my radar. Earlier this month, modder ‘doodlum’ released a mod for Fallout 4 that adds support for AMD FSR 3 Frame Generation.
For those who did not know, Fallout 4 already had an AMD FSR 3.0 Frame Gen Mod. However, that was a paid mod. As such, a number of F4 gamers boycotted it. But now, everyone will be able to use FSR 3.0 Frame Generation, as this is a free mod.
Going into more details, the F4SE plugin adds Frame Generation to significantly boost FPS and stabilise frame pacing. As I said, this is a free Frame Gen Mod. Not only that, but it supports all game versions and ENB.
By using this mod, Fallout 4 will have substantially more consistent performance in its CPU-heavy areas. And, believe me. When you heavily mod your game, you will encounter CPU bottlenecks even on high-end CPUs.
You can download the mod from this link. To use it, you’ll need the Address Library for F4SE Plugins, Motion Vector Fixes, and High FPS Physics Fix. The last one is a must-have, even if you don’t use this Frame Gen mod, as it fixes the game’s physics at high framerates.
If you are into Fallout 4, you might also want to check out these other mods for it. For instance, there is a LOD mod that reduces distant object/shadow/texture pop-ins. Then we have the Disk Cache Enabler Mod. There’s also a mod that adds ragdoll physics and collisions to dead bodies. Another amazing mod is this one that fixes the game’s long loading times. DirectHit is a mod that overhauls the AI of enemies. And let’s not forget this mod that adds real locational damage to all enemies. We also have this mod that adds to the game 10 driveable cars/vehicles with Havok physics, as well as this Enhanced Movement Mod. Modders have even brought Fallout: New Vegas’ skill system to it.
To improve the graphics or performance, you can use the following mods. For instance, there are various HD texture packs. You can either download this 8K Texture Pack or this 41GB 4K Texture Pack, which optimizes all 40,962 textures. There’s also a mod that improves the faces of over 1450 NPCs. Finally, there is a mod that adds support for NVIDIA DLSS 2, AMD FSR 2, and Intel XeSS.
America Rising 2 is another fan DLC/expansion mod that integrates the Enclave faction into the main story with 24 main quests. Hunter’s Abyss and Caves Of The Commonwealth are two other fan expansion mods. Let’s also not forget Fallout London, which looks promising. Misery Island is another DLC-sized fan expansion. You can also download Sim Settlements 2 – Chapter 3, Whispering Hills, which is a cool Silent Hill mod, and The Wilderness Mod. Plus, there is a horror quest mod that is inspired by Lovecraft, Resident Evil, and Dead Space. A few months ago, we also shared a brand new dark quest mod, called Project A.R.E.S. Let’s also not forget Atom’s Retribution, which offers 24+ hours of gameplay and 40+ new quests. Oh, and the Mass Effect Evolution Mod is once again available for download.
Enjoy and stay tuned for more!

new vegas and morrowind next plz.
Would be awesome to work on Fallout76!
But….why? Who has a card that supports fsr3 frame gen that is also still struggling to run fallout 4 so bad that they need to use fake frames? Makes no sense to me. Why would you add something that makes it look and feel so much worse for a game that basically runs on a potato, even when heavily modded?
Boston area still has fps drops even on modern pc's.
I found that lossless scaling adaptive mode helped with that a lot.
That's how I play the game right now. All drops are eliminated. Perfect 60 fps. Adaptive Frame Gen is awesome!

Even older PCs can run fallout 4 at 60+ fps all the times but due to CPU optimisations not very good, staying at higher refresh rates like 144fps or 165hz or 240hz all the time is not possible. Also withoud mods the game speeds up above 60fps, some people like to play Vanilla without modding so getting 120fps or getting 144fps to reach highe rrefresh rates from 60fps is quite easy using this mod. I was using Lossless scaling which worked fine but had issues with HUD elemenets and crosshair. For me this mod will be handy.
Idk i stay locked at 120fps due to using freesync pro 2, or premium or whatever they wanna call it (freesync with hdr 10bit. Locks you at 120hz) even on my previous relatively modest pc (ryzen 3600/rx6600) at 1440p, modded, max settings.
Before even that system going even further back i was able to run it at 1080p 60 (going back when i was just on a 1080p/60hz monitor) on an amd fx8350 and rx580 on ddr3 ram. Of course i have a far better setup now but my point is anyone on pretty much any fairly modern hardware no matter how modest should easily be able to keep at least 60fps maxed out at whatever resolution.
and really, yeah ive ran the mod to go above 60 without breaking the game engine of course, and obviously have the hardware to do it, but i feel like theres not really that much advantage to going above a solid, stable 60 in these games anyway. It was (obviously) never intended to run past that, was designed for 60fps and is totally fine at 60. Did i do it on my last modded playthrough? Well yeah because why not, with a ryzen 5700x3d, 64GB ram and rx7800xt on a WD black nvme drive i was already running way overkill hardware anyway. But i never left 120fps.
Use Lossless Scaling Frame Gen instead! Much easier. You can solve the input lag by using the fps limiters from Special K (Low Latency limiter or Nvidia Reflex). Problem solved. Almost 0 input lag.
PS: Play with a gaming mouse with high DPI. It helps a lot also.
I had bigger issues with image quality. I found a DLAA mod instead. It was a bit of a pain to get it working, but I succeeded in the end. Anyway, I finished playing the game 10 years after release (but I started it 10 years after release too).
