Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 Gets Official Minimum PC Requirements

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 is one of the most anticipated games of 2024. And earlier today, Ninja Theory shared its official minimum PC system requirements. So, let’s take a look at them.

PC gamers will at least need an Intel i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 with 16GB of RAM and an Nvidia GTX 1070, an AMD RX 5700 or an Intel Arc A580. The game will also require 70GB of free disk space, and Ninja Theory recommends using an SSD.

Sadly, the devs have not revealed the settings, resolution and framerate that these minimum PC system requirements target. My guess is that these are for 1080p and 30fps on… Low Settings?

As I’ve already reported, the console version of Hellblade 2 will be locked at 30fps. As such, the only platform that will be able to offer framerates higher than 30fps or 60fps will be the PC. And, since the game is powered by Unreal Engine 5, it will be interesting to see what kind of PC system it requires to hit 4K/Epic Settings/60fps. It will also be interesting to see whether it will support DLSS 3, FSR 3.0 and XeSS at launch.

Microsoft plans to release Hellblade 2 on May 21st. Since this is a Microsoft game, we won’t have a day-1 PC Performance Analysis (that’s because we don’t have a contact at MS). However, I’ve already purchased the game so I’ll be sure to share my initial PC performance impressions on launch day.

          4. I think he is implying woman warriors are not real, just the product of male fantasy, like amazon warriors. But i’ll give that this game is realistic since all her enemies are imaginary.

          6. What about the real life counterpart, is it the same? Saw some pics and she does indeed look slightly uglier, character design is a given, they basically take a bombshell actress and make her dress ugly and all that, but facial structure took a slight hit maybe to enphasize she is craaazy ho3.

Odd how in real life woman use filters to make themselves more attractive in pictures but when it comes to gaming, it’s either making the actress an 1:1 replica or add some masculine features, making her uglier in the process. In any case i’m more nostalgic towards original 3d characters, this is gaming, not hollyweird, why do i need to look to the same actor in different games?

        1. The character is a mentally ill gaelic warrior lady during the gaelic period, I just don’t expect why people want her to be yassified for lack of better term. Im just saying this is probably one of the times where the character model and look is appropriate for the game/setting.

          1. I can’t vouch for autenticity, i didn’t live in that era, but the dreadlocks and “mental illness” is kind of suspicious, sounds like a modern woman to me.

        2. Well it make sense, the actor lives in the real world where she does not need huge muscles to survive, but she should look realistic for a battle trained Nord woman.

          Adding some muscle make her more realistic to the era.

I would like to believe that its probably because of advancements in mocap/photorealism technology between the development of the two titles, that we fall more into the uncanny valley but the directors feel that the look is fine. There’s definitely some changes but I don’t think it was of any mal practice and doesnt really seem to affect what the game is trying to do imo.

          2. It’s more to do with facial expression. First game she looked scared, and second game she looks unhinged and full of facial tatoos, therefore, more ugly.

  2. It’s somewhat odd to me that they’re requiring the RX 5700 for this, as the weaker Vega 56 performs the same as the GTX 1070 in the first game. Is UE5 so different that it’s that much harder to run on AMD GPUs?

          1. Or just stick with Windows 10 which works fine for me and is easier to remove all the Microsoft Spyware and Trojan nonsense

            I have every version of Windows made including Windows 1.0 which was on 5 1/4″ floppy disks and only supported 640 KB of memory. The floppies may no longer be any good since they are so old but I still have them in my collection

  9. It’s somewhat odd to me that they’re requiring the RX 5700 for this, as the weaker Vega 56 performs the same as the GTX 1070 in the first game. Is UE5 so different that it’s that much harder to run on AMD GPUs?

    1. While UE4 had a historical preference for Nvidia for a few years, Hellblade 1 is now UE 4.25 and running in DX12, it doesn’t to my knowledge still have this Nvidia preference.

      V56 should perform better than 1070, even more so on UE5.

    2. I think its more because AMD is ending support for the Vega and Polaris cards so some developers are removing them from supported hardware.

      1. Hmm that’s a fair point. In that case, they should’ve recommended the 5600 XT, which is a bit weaker than the 5700 but still significantly faster than the 1070 (like over 20% faster).

  10. Modern PC Triple A Gaming. Spend 2 grand for a game to run like sh@^ on Unreal Engine, in a game made by activists who are too stupid to use Unreal, let alone make their own engine…
    where you get to play as a female character who kills men, while getting political sermons written by bankers who discounted the loans to a sellout company. Those sermons mostly involve hating people due to their skin color, unwillingness to cut their male genitalia off or love another man or a man pretending to be a woman (so they can’t procreate) and scapegoating them and if you question this you are racist and anti-semitic.

  12. Considering how heavy UE5 tends to be and also how easy integrating the various upscaling tech is I can’t imagine the game won’t launch with at least support for DLSS & FSR along with UE5’s TAAU.
